Job Overview:
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing communication strategies that support resident engagement and ensure the timely, accurate, and consistent delivery of information across multiple communication channels. This position develops and distributes community communications, maintains digital communication platforms, supports events and initiatives, and collaborates with departments to promote effective communication practices that align with FirstService Residential standards and client expectations.
Your Responsibilities
Communications Management
- Coordinate, develop, and distribute resident communications including newsletters, announcements, notices, surveys, email campaigns, and special communications.
- Ensure communication content is accurate, professional, timely, and consistent with approved branding and communication standards.
- Partner with community leadership and departments to support communication initiatives and organizational objectives.
- Assist with developing communication plans for major projects, events, operational updates, and emergency notifications.
Content Development
- Create written, visual, and digital content for newsletters, websites, presentations, social media platforms, and resident communications.
- Edit and proofread communication materials for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
- Develop communication templates and standardized messaging to improve efficiency and consistency.
Website & Digital Platform Administration
- Maintain and update community websites, communication portals, and digital communication tools.
- Ensure online content remains current, accurate, and relevant.
- Coordinate updates with vendors, technology partners, and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Monitor digital communication channels and recommend improvements to enhance user experience and engagement.
Resident Engagement
- Support resident engagement initiatives through communication campaigns and promotional activities.
- Develop surveys and feedback opportunities to assess resident satisfaction and communication effectiveness.
- Assist with promoting community programs, events, amenities, and special initiatives.
- Serve as a communication resource to residents by facilitating clear and effective information sharing.
Event Communications
- Support communications related to community events, meetings, educational programs, and resident activities.
- Develop promotional materials and event communications.
- Coordinate photography and content collection during events for future communications and marketing purposes.
Reporting & Analytics
- Monitor communication effectiveness through participation metrics, website analytics, survey results, and email engagement statistics.
- Prepare reports and recommendations regarding communication performance and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain communication records and archives as appropriate.
Administrative Support
- Maintain communications calendars and publication schedules.
- Coordinate communication requests from various departments and stakeholders.
- Organize and maintain digital assets, photographs, communication templates, and marketing materials.
- Provide administrative support for communication-related projects and initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, community engagement, or a related field.
- Experience within property management, hospitality, community association management, customer service, or related industries preferred.
- Experience managing websites, social media platforms, email marketing systems, and digital communication tools preferred.
- Social Media: Facebook administration, content creation, scheduling tools.
- Marketing: Mailchimp, Canva, basic photography/videography, and digital image editing software (Photoshop CS/Elements)
- Website Management: Content updates and strategy alignment.
- Office Tools: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat.
- Must possess a valid Florida driver license.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, sitting, walking and occasional climbing.
- Ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms.
- Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
- Must be able to work in small and confined spaces for extended periods of time.
- Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
- Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities, to include the exchange and receipt of information over the telephone, email and in person.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call availability for crisis communication.

Compensation: $33.00 - $38.00 an hour
