Guilford Press — a proudly independent academic/scholarly publisher of high-quality, evidence-based works in psychology, education, research methods, and related fields, for professionals, students, and general readers — seeks an experienced marketing professional to manage and execute email promotions for Guilford’s books and digital products. The Email Marketing Associate must be experienced and confident in maintaining an ongoing schedule of promotions; analyzing the performance, audience engagement, and attribution of marketing campaigns; and strategizing adjustments and improvements as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage and send out email promotions.
- Analyze email performance data, report on data, and adjust strategies based on insights; propose ideas to address problematic trends.
- Manage Guilford’s Customer Club promotions; develop and execute various campaigns to meet or exceed growth goals; adjust strategies as needed to optimize performance.
- Conduct market research to identify email trends, competitor activity, and audience preferences.
- Manage email budget, timelines, and resources to ensure effective execution.
- Collaborate with publicity and campaign managers to support promotions.
Requirements
- Previous relevant marketing experience in a business environment is required. A minimum of five years is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills.
- Ability to propose, coordinate, and manage multiple email campaigns at once, while prioritizing tasks and maintaining schedules in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to handle complex projects and find creative solutions independently.
- Ability to communicate and work well with staff members in various departments, as well as with authors and stakeholders.
- High level of attention to details, including excellent proofreading skills.
- Knowledge of HTML and experience and familiarity with email service provider interfaces.
- Ability to work with computer word processing, spreadsheet, marketing analytics tools, custom database systems, and Canva.
- Ability to understand and work with basic mathematical functions (including percentages).
- Ability to learn and integrate new tasks into position, including learning new software and database skills and being adaptable to evolving marketing strategies and technologies.
Work Arrangements
Guilford Press is a New York City-based company that has embraced hybrid work arrangements. This position is based out of our midtown New York City office. Applicants interested in fully remote work will be considered, though preference will be given to those applicants available to work regularly on a weekly basis from Guilford’s NYC office, collaborating with other on-site colleagues, should they be hired.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 annually, with a hiring salary dependent on skills and experience.
