Your role in helping us shape the future:
U.S. News is seeking an experienced content creator to join the editorial team responsible for the company’s live events, which include in-person conferences, virtual events and invitation-only salons. The ideal candidate will have strong research, reporting, writing and interviewing skills that will be tapped to plan sophisticated event programming with thought leaders on topics related to health, education and other areas. We are looking for someone who is both a strong, collaborative team player and able to work efficiently and independently on assignments. You will play a major part in developing new and existing events for U.S. News Live, particularly with Healthcare of Tomorrow, our annual flagship leadership forum for hospital and health system executives and industry decision-makers.
Are you up to the challenge?
- Drive Event Strategy and Execution: Work collaboratively with colleagues on the events team and across U.S. News to brainstorm and nurture event topics, speakers, programming and related content.
- Develop Session Programming: Conceptualize, research and plan compelling event topics and programming that are aligned with industry trends and that provide interesting audience insights.
- Recruit and Prep Event Speakers: Identify, book and onboard speakers (C-suite executives, hospital and university presidents, government officials and industry thought leaders). Conduct pre-interviews and develop briefing materials and discussion guides to prepare speakers and moderators.
- Moderate at Events and Support Colleague Speakers/Moderators: Serve as an on-stage or virtual moderator for panel discussions and one-on-one fireside chats, while collaborating with production and event operations teams to ensure seamless live execution.
- Reimagine Event Content for New Audiences: Translate key insights from events into news articles, Q&As, short video clips for social, newsletter features and other formats to drive pre- and post-event audience engagement. Look for other opportunities to extend event content for our audiences of both industry professionals and consumers.
- Anchor Email Newsletter: Serve as the primary writer and anchor for the weekly Healthcare of Tomorrow Bulletin email newsletter, continually pitching fresh formats, sharp angles and editorial improvements to grow audience engagement.
You should definitely have:
- 5+ years of experience working on events (especially content/programming), communications and/or journalism.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively multitask.
- Proven analytical and enterprise communications skills.
