About Plum Paper
Plum Paper has been making custom planners to order since 2010, handcrafted in the USA. We believe a planner is a small act of intention: a way to take time out and make time for the things you love. Our customers build their planners page by page around their lives, and they come back for the next one year after year. We love that, and we hope you will too.
About the role
We’re bringing email and SMS in-house and launching a Plum Paper loyalty program. You’ll own email marketing end to end, from strategy and copy to setup, segmentation, sending, testing, and reporting, and you’ll build our loyalty program from the ground up. You’ll work closely with the Marketing Manager on direction, hand in hand with design on every email, and with Finance and IT/dev on program economics and technical setup.
What we offer:
- Competitive Salary ($70k - $85k) based on knowledge, skills and relevant work experience + quarterly bonus potential
- Great comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term & Long-Term Disability, Company provided & paid life insurance.
- Excellent 401K Retirement Plan with generous company match.
- Work Life Balance; 12 Company Paid Holidays, Paid Vacation and Paid Sick Time.
- High growth potential with excellent compensation.
- A company culture that values individual contribution.
What you will own
- Own the email strategy: what we send, to whom, when, and why
- Build, schedule, and send all email and SMS campaigns, and manage the campaign calendar with the Marketing Manager
- Write email and SMS copy in Plum Paper’s voice, and help define our voice and tone guidelines. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure content accuracy.
- Brief and partner with design on visuals, then build emails in Klaviyo from an on-brand, modular template system
- Build and refine segments based on behavior, purchase history, engagement, and lifecycle stage
- Build and optimize core flows: welcome, abandoned cart and browse, post-purchase, next-planner reminders, win-back, and sunset
- Consolidate all email to the Klaviyo platform, working with IT/Dev on set up and automations
- Design and launch a Plum Paper loyalty program, covering structure, rewards, naming, and launch
- Model program economics with Finance, and integrate the program with Klaviyo alongside IT/dev
- Own retention around the planner lifecycle: every planner has an end date, so you’ll know when customers are due for their next one
- Own the A/B testing roadmap across subject lines, send times, offers, creative, and flows
- QA every send for links, personalization, rendering, segment logic, and compliance
- Own Klaviyo setup, including domain authentication and e-commerce integrations, partnering with IT where needed
- Manage platform vendors and recommend tools that improve deliverability and efficiency
- Grow the list through signup forms, popups, and the preference center
- Report on campaign, flow, deliverability, and loyalty performance, with insights and recommendations, not just numbers
- Track repeat purchase rate, customer lifetime value, and time between orders
What you bring
- 1–2+ years of hands-on email marketing. You’ve built flows and campaigns yourself, not just briefed an agency
- Hands-on Klaviyo experience strongly preferred (or a comparable ESP)
- A strong writer who picks up a brand voice quickly
- Experience with retention or loyalty marketing, such as a loyalty, VIP, or referral program
- Comfort owning a channel independently and partnering with design and IT/dev
- Equal parts strategic and hands-on, with the eye to catch a broken link before it goes to 50,000 people
- Basic HTML/CSS is a plus
Nice to have
- Experience with developing a loyalty program
- SMS compliance knowledge (TCPA, opt-in/opt-out flows)
- An e-commerce or custom-product background
- You already own a planner (or three)
