About this role:

The Director, Content will plan and own the editorial calendar for the USGA, inclusive of championship and brand messaging and storylines. Using a strategic approach that connects to the USGA’s mission and priorities while also serving to entertain, educate and inform, they will develop an editorial strategy that is consistent across delivery platforms and owned channels.

This person will manage four direct reports on a team of five, who oversee the day-to-day management of USGA digital channels, including but not limited to social media, website, app and newsletter content.

The Director, Content will utilize data to drive direction and decision making for USGA content. This position is a part of the USGA’s Communications & Content team and will lead collaboration among colleagues from across the organization to ensure that the best stories are identified and told in a way that highlights the USGA’s impact on the game.

What you'll do:

Oversee creation and management of a 12-month broad-based content plan, accounting for USGA priorities, audiences and channels.
Using the organization's key messages, oversee ideation of storylines that ultimately drive content creation decision-making and distribution, working closely with the Creative Services team to bring concepts to life.
Maintain a calendar of project deadlines and content launch dates.
Assist in developing and executing distribution strategies of content across multiple USGA platforms, and external channels as needed, working with Digital Media and Marketing teams to integrate engagement goals, optimize content and maintain consistency of brand voice across channels.
Based on current research, emerging trends and best practices, recommend changes and optimizations to continually improve message content, creative, user experience and digital engagement. Evaluate operational workflow for efficient and scalability; identify challenges and provide innovative solutions.
Track content performance and monitor consumer feedback to inform or adjust decisions.

Where you'll be:

This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. The Director, Content will also be expected to travel, approximately 50 days/year.

8+ years experience in editorial/content creation across multimedia platforms
Collaborative approach to collecting ideas and feedback, and putting them into action
Results-based track record of driving organizational impact
Ability to expertly manage team goals and individual contributors
Strong editorial and creative judgement
Knowledge of how content is consumed across various platforms by different audiences
Outstanding language and written communication skills
Deep knowledge of and appreciation for golf
A passion for interactive, multimedia storytelling
Deadline-focused
Ability to travel approximately 50 days/year

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000

The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. This range represents what we reasonably expect to pay as starting base compensation for this role. Compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and relevant certifications.
