Embarcadero Media Foundation, the Peninsula’s leading independent nonprofit media organization, seeks a skilled Marketing Events and Operations Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on planning, executing, and managing various live and virtual events and ensuring the smooth operational flow of marketing processes to support our publications in the Peninsula and East Bay.
The Marketing Events & Operations Specialist will hold ownership of several marketing events and promotions. The right candidate leverages their experience to develop and implement improved audience growth and engagement strategies through our marketing and editorial events to increase newsletter subscribers and members and connect with communities. Additionally, this role will streamline marketing operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Collaboration and outreach will be essential in supporting our mission by building strong relationships between internal teams and community groups.
This hybrid, part-time, non-benefited position reports to the Director of Marketing and Audience Development and is based in Palo Alto. Some night and weekend event attendance is required.

Specific responsibilities are subject to change as priorities and needs are modified, but the following summarizes the general scope of the position:
- Proactively help plan, execute, and represent Embarcadero Media Foundation for community programs, promotions, and events, including annual community events such as Moonlight Run and the Sixfifty Photo Contest, editorial events such as candidate panels and author interviews, membership drives, and more.
- Implement multichannel marketing campaigns
- Support content development for media channels related to events and promotions.
- Monitor and report on event performance and analytics.
- Marketing operations support, including but not limited to:
- management and execution of contests and giveaways
- management of photo archives
- management and organization of marketing databases and systems.
- assists in the development and implementation of marketing processes and procedures.
- assists with technical and operational aspects of campaign builds, including UTM tracking links and project management support
- copywriting for event promotion across marketing channels
- assists in key fundraising campaigns such as membership drives, donor events, the Holiday Fund, Season of Giving, and campaigns to elevate editorial content.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of experience in marketing promotion and events coordination
