Position Summary
Assistant Buyer will assist with the procurement of third-party merchandise for the business area and the administrative activity required to maintain a constant and adequate flow of merchandise to the stores. They will recap and analyze the business, manage SKU counts, and grow the overall Men’s RTW omni channels to help achieve seasonal sales and inventory goals. They will attend local market appointments and assist with writing orders. They will work with vendors to plan in-store trainings, create exclusives, and equip store teams with necessary incentives and information to inspire selling. A primary focus will be gro ing our online and social presence. They should have strong analytical skills with knowledge of retail math and Excel, along with a demonstrated understanding of the luxury retail market.
Primary Responsibilities
- Run daily / weekly / monthly reports to recap and analyze the business; react to in-season needs by partnering with store teams and vendors (via transfers, reorders/swaps)
- Key transfers and track merchandise receipts to ensure a balance stock level and to maximize seasonal sell thru
- Manage all stages of purchase order entry and style creation
- Ensure seamless flow of receipt for incoming product; communicate upcoming shipments to Logistics and coordinate invoice payments with AP
- Orchestrate weekly product shoots for the website, partnering with photography team for styling accuracy and with web team to ensure seamless posting and online accuracy
- Select brands/products for weekly e-newsletter and social exposure
- Create and distribute product knowledge to stores and internal teams for new brand launches, upcoming seasonal deliveries, and vendor sale incentives
- Schedule and prepare for market appointments; attend local market appointments assisting with product selection and order roll up
- Shop marketplace to identify new brand/trend opportunities
Experience
- 0-3 years’ experience with a background in buying and/or planning
