About the Role:
MASSterList — the widely read morning newsletter covering politics and policy across Massachusetts — is seeking an experienced, ambitious Editor to write and curate its morning newsletter. This is a high-visibility role ideal for a journalist with strong reporting chops, a competitive edge, and a passion for state and local politics. The right candidate will take full ownership of MASSterList’s content and voice, becoming a trusted source for 30,000+ engaged readers across the Commonwealth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and publish the daily MASSterList newsletter by curating political and policy news from a wide range of statewide sources;
- Expand the outlet’s original reporting by identifying new sources and breaking stories;
- Collaborate with freelance writers and columnists.
- Serve as a public face of MASSterList: build relationships with sources, attend key political events, and work with the Publisher to shape and grow the brand.

This is a high-engagement role that requires availability outside traditional business hours — including weekends and select holidays.
