Description
Front Office Sports is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Director, Sponsorship Sales to lead our efforts in monetizing our premium slate of events and experiences. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role focused on growing event-based revenue by cultivating meaningful partnerships with leading brands.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of success in event and experience sponsorship sales, including closing high-value deals and building a book of business from scratch. This person is entrepreneurially minded, with the hustle, passion, and energy to break through walls and turn opportunity into results. You’re a self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments and isn’t afraid to open new doors or carve a path where one doesn’t yet exist.
Reporting directly to the EVP, Head of Brand Partnerships, this leader will play a pivotal role in scaling FOS’s growing sponsorship business, leveraging one of the most engaged and unique audiences in media.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic events sponsorship sales plan aligned to company revenue and margin goals.
- Own the full sales cycle—from prospecting to closing, including lead generation, opportunity qualification, proposal development, valuation, and contract negotiation.
- Serve as a key internal collaborator with Events, Marketing, and Creative Strategy to identify compelling sponsorship assets and deliver high-impact brand integrations.
- Work cross-functionally with the broader Brand Partnerships team to create 360-degree, multi-platform campaigns that maximize brand value and deepen relationships.
- Represent FOS at summits, conferences, and industry panels to build relationships, source new business, and position FOS as a leader in the event marketing space.
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets through proactive outbound sales efforts and strategic relationship building.
- Stay ahead of market trends and competitive movements to inform strategy, unlock new opportunities, and shape the evolution of FOS’s event offerings.
- Provide feedback to improve positioning, go-to-market materials, and overall event strategy based on market insights and sponsor feedback.
- Actively contribute to shaping the next phase of FOS’s growth by identifying new event formats, verticals, or experiential opportunities that drive monetization.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of work experience in sponsorship, activation, marketing, and/or media (preferably in Sports)
- 6+ years of direct event sponsorship sales experience with a strong background in live entertainment, sports, hospitality, summits, or pop culture-driven events.
- Demonstrated success in sourcing, building, and closing new business, especially in a high-growth or startup environment.
- Deep network of brand-side and agency decision-makers across Consumer, B2B, and Professional Services categories.
- Comfortable working independently, owning a pipeline, and driving toward ambitious revenue targets with limited hand-holding.
- Excellent communicator and negotiator, capable of storytelling with purpose and selling through value.
- Passion for live experiences, media innovation, and the mission of Front Office Sports.
- Prior start-up, entrepreneurial, or fast-growth experience is a strong plus.
- NYC-based, with a minimum of three days per week in-office presence at FOS HQ.
