O’Melveny has an immediate full-time opening for a
Communications Coordinator in our
New York office. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating internal and external communications projects, as well as some marketing initiatives, for the Client Development Department.
The salary range in New York for this role is $68,000 - $76,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Serving as the firm’s "quarterback" and go-to coordinator for awards and survey initiatives.
- Helping coordinate O'Melveny's awards processes, which requires tracking calls for nominations and deadlines for dozens of awards and surveys.
- Communicating regularly with team members across the Client Development Department to ensure all surveys and nominations are completed on time.
- Maintaining firm’s survey database and help with drafting submissions.
- Monitoring and logging daily news coverage related to the firm.
- Producing and distributing a daily internal newsletter of news coverage
- Drafting and formatting communications for use both internally and externally, including press releases and internal news stories
- Posting press releases and other communications content to the firm’s external website.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- A minimum of one to three years of work experience in a law firm, a professional services environment, or comparable position in a corporation is preferred but will consider recent college graduates with focus and drive.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project coordinator who can support competing internal client demands, professionally, without sacrificing quality.
- Must be highly customer-service oriented, technologically savvy, organized, and able to multi-task and prioritize.
- Must demonstrate good judgment in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
- Familiarity with a Content Management System (CMS) for websites preferred.
