From new developments and construction to theme parks, restaurants, events, and general news, we cover it all. Additionally, we have a real estate division that highlights different neighborhoods and homes for sale throughout Orlando.
Position Overview
This is a full-time copywriting position. Your role includes helping develop our weekly newsletter, as well as writing for the website. Someone who loves research, understands online trends and how to capitalize on timely content, and cares to build a portfolio of what's going on in Orlando's real estate, development, and theme park scene, would LOVE this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead our weekly newsletter: source stories, write compelling headlines and manage the send schedule
- Write long and short‑form website content: market updates, development spotlights, listicles and feature pieces
- Pitch timely story ideas by monitoring local news, permits, SEC filings, tourism data and social trends
- Perform in‑depth research (public records, interviews, data sets) to add authority and factual accuracy
- Optimize for SEO: craft keyword‑rich copy, meta titles/descriptions, and internal‑link strategies
- Collaborate with video & social teams to repurpose written content into scripts, captions and blog posts
- Maintain an editorial calendar that balances evergreen guides with breaking stories
- Track performance (open rates, CTR, page views) and iterate based on analytics
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years professional copywriting, journalism, or content‑marketing experience
- Portfolio demonstrating clear, engaging storytelling and strong research chops
- Working knowledge of SEO best practices and basic analytics (GA 4, Search Console or similar)
- Comfortable translating complex info into reader‑friendly copy
- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines while maintaining brand voice and accuracy
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress or similar)
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have but Not Required)
- Understanding of Orlando’s real‑estate and tourism landscape
- Experience writing for email marketing platforms
- Basic HTML/CSS for quick formatting tweaks
- Familiarity with AI writing assistants for ideation and efficiency (no AI‑generated articles)
- Multimedia scripting skills (podcast or video)
