This role combines journalism, strategy, and marketing. EarthX is seeking a sharp, informed content creator and editor to craft compelling blogs, op-eds, interview features, campaign copy, and thought leadership pieces that reflect our unique positioning as a multi-partisan, solutions-oriented environmental convening platform. You’ll help EarthX shape the public dialogue around sustainability, investment, innovation.
Responsibilities
- Research, write, and edit original blog content, articles, and profiles of speakers, partners, or grantees
- Support the marketing and communications team with copy for campaigns, newsletters, media kits, websites, and advertising
- Interview experts, speakers, and attendees to create human-driven storytelling across EarthX themes
- Collaborate with PR and communications teams to shape press narratives and talking points
- Draft talking points and ghostwritten op-eds for leadership
- Ensure content is audience-centric, searchable (SEO), and aligned with EarthX’s brand voice and tone
- Maintain editorial calendar and manage freelance writers, if needed
Qualifications
- 5–8 years experience in content creation, journalism, communications, or copywriting
- Deep familiarity with the environmental landscape—policy, business, science, and activism
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with ability to tailor voice for different audiences
- Comfort interviewing high-level speakers and distilling technical content into accessible language
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience working within CMS platforms (WordPress), SEO, and basic newsletter tools
