The New York Post is seeking an experienced Newsletter Editor to lead the curation and writing of our flagship newsletters across both the New York Post and the California Post. This high-autonomy role is ideal for a sharp, energetic editor with a witty, expressive voice and a strong understanding of newsletters as key audience and revenue drivers. The ideal candidate can craft must-read products, set editorial tone, and elevate performance metrics while collaborating across fast-paced newsrooms.
Responsibilities:
- Curate and write two high-impact daily newsletters (M–F) in the distinct New York Post voice, including crafting introductions, summarizing key stories, and delivering sharp quick-hit items.
- Oversee newsletter performance metrics—open rates, CTRs, retention—and partner with editorial and audience teams to develop strategies that deepen engagement.
- Solicit contributions and pitches from reporters and editors across the New York Post and California Post to enrich content.
- Manage newsletter production within the CMS and email service provider (Sailthru preferred), ensuring list health, deliverability, and efficient workflow.
- Provide editorial and production support for additional newsletters as needed.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of digital editorial experience, including at least 3 years focused on high-volume newsletter production and strategy.
- Exceptional news judgment with the ability to make fast, high-stakes editorial decisions.
- A witty, expressive, and adaptable writing style aligned with the New York Post’s bold, irreverent tone.
- Ability to work independently and provide editorial direction without direct supervisory authority.
- Collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to rally cross-departmental support.
- Hands-on experience with major ESPs (Sailthru preferred), including familiarity with deliverability, metrics, and campaign execution.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours based on newsletter deadlines and send-times.
Note: This role will be expected to report on-site 5 days per week.
