About ACM at ASU
The ACM Student Chapter at Arizona State University (ACM at ASU) is the premier tech community on campus and a direct extension of the Association for Computing Machinery—the world's largest computing society with over 100,000 members globally.
We bridge the gap between academic theory and professional success. Our mission is to support the professional growth of every student by offering opportunities for lifelong learning, career development, and high-level networking. We provide a platform for discussions, symposia, conferences, competitions, and technical workshops that prepare students for the real world.
Membership is open to all ASU students regardless of major or location. Whether you are on the Tempe campus or attending online from across the globe, ACM at ASU provides the resources you need to excel.
Our Culture: Why We Are Different
At ACM at ASU, we don’t just run a club; we operate like a high-growth startup. We are a team of driven individuals who believe in doing things properly. When you join our team, you aren't just filling a seat—you are taking ownership of a specific domain.
Here is what defines our internal culture:
- Professional Excellence: We hold ourselves to a high standard. From using industry-standard tools like Notion, SDC, and Discord to managing corporate sponsorships and complex budgets, our officers gain "real-world" experience that goes beyond the classroom.
- Curiosity & Depth: We don’t just scratch the surface. Whether it is our Academia team analyzing PhD-level research papers or our Industry team mapping out career pathways, we value deep understanding and critical thinking.
- Structured Mentorship: You will never work in a silo. With bi-weekly team syncs, 1:1 leadership check-ins, and clear reporting structures, we ensure every officer is supported, guided, and growing.
- Inclusivity & Reach: We are a global chapter. We design our events, content, and outreach to be accessible to everyone, ensuring that an online student in another country feels just as connected as a student in the Engineering Center.
- Community First: While we are serious about our work, we are equally serious about our community. We build genuine friendships, support each other’s academic journeys, and create an environment where "common sense" and collaboration thrive.
Join us to build the future of tech at ASU.
