Assistant Marketing Manager, Finger Lakes Wine Alliance (Hybrid — Finger Lakes (Geneva HQ) & Surrounding Cities)
Reports to: Executive Director, Finger Lakes Wine Alliance (FLWA)
Schedule: Part Time (30 hrs/week),Hybrid (min. 2 days/week in Geneva; rest WFH)
Travel: Occasional evenings/weekends for events, activations, tastings (≈15–20%)

FLWA is a 501(c)(6) marketing alliance advancing the visibility and prominence of the Finger Lakes AVA, its wines, and wineries through trade/media programs and member education.
Job Summary
We’re looking for a creative operator who can concept, produce, and ship, then read the data and do it smarter tomorrow. You’ll run day-to-day content and campaigns across social, email, and web; support signature events and media moments; and build simple, easy-to-use tools members can put to work immediately. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with winemakers, agencies, and partners to deliver on-brief, on-time work that grows visibility, engagement, and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Visibility
Support a flagship industry gathering (invites/RSVPs, press list support, run-of-show, onsite, post-event recap).
Maintain a pipeline of thought-leadership stories for winemakers/owners; build media-ready kits.
Coordinate an annual industry brief
Own social/email/web calendars; write short copy and publish via WordPress.
Trade, Media & Member Engagement
Assist coordinating an in-region immersion program
Produce sales tools and a lightweight learning resource for members.
Build member toolkits (copy, imagery, posting guidance); keep media/trade/distributor/member lists current.
Revenue Support (Sponsorships & Grants)
Research and track sponsorship prospects; prep pitch materials; assist with deliverables and simple sponsor reporting.
Track grant calendars/requirements; assemble supporting docs; draft basic sections.
Provide planning and onsite support for a signature fundraising activation (ticketing/RSVPs, sponsor touchpoints, post-event summary).
Insights, Reporting & Ops
Build lightweight dashboards; report KPIs (reach, engagement, traffic, conversions, media hits, attendee counts).
Drive timelines and checklists across projects; proactively unblock.
Prepare board-ready updates and recaps.
Assist with bi-weekly newsletter layout and deployment.
Handle embargoed materials with discretion; uphold brand standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Marketing/Business/Communications); HS diploma/GED required.
2+ years in Marketing, Sales, or Agency (advertising/PR/digital/experiential).
Foundation in beverage alcohol or CPG marketing; wine trade exposure a plus.
Strong project & time management; excellent attention to detail; comfort with data-driven recommendations.
21+, valid driver’s license; able to lift up to 40 lbs (case of wine).
Exercises sound judgment; maintains confidentiality.
Tools & Skills
Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, WordPress
Social & scheduling: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn; Meta Business Suite
Email/CRM: Mailchimp/HubSpot/Constant Contact (or similar).
Analytics: GA4, native social analytics; basic dashboarding in Sheets/Excel.
Creative: Canva (Adobe CC a plus).
Nice to have: basic photo/video capture & short-form editing (Reels).
Some wine knowledge required; WSET Level 2 a plus
Physical & Work Environment
Professional office environment; frequent computer use. Regional travel as needed (up to ~20%).
Compensation
$20-$25/hour (non-exempt; 30 hrs/week). Actual compensation based on experience, skills, education, and role-related factors.
