Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check.
Essential Job Duties
The Communications Intern will support BambooHR's Corporate Communications team, gaining hands-on experience across both internal and external communications. In this role, you'll contribute to day-to-day communications work that helps keep employees informed, supports executive storytelling, and strengthens BambooHR's external presence via its PR program.
A typical day may include updating the BambooHR newsroom, assisting with PR initiatives, creating competitive insight reports, coordinating with our PR agency, drafting or editing internal communications like our monthly company update or Bamboo Bytes newsletter, and supporting executive speaking opportunities. You'll also help advance BambooHR's Data at Work program through reporting and content support in 2026.
This is a great opportunity for a communications student eager to learn the full scope of corporate communications while sharpening writing, editing, and project management skills.
You Will:
- Update and maintain BambooHR's online newsroom, ensuring content is accurate, timely, and well-written.
- Support BambooHR's PR program, including tracking coverage, drafting materials, and assisting with media outreach efforts.
- Help facilitate and maintain BambooHR's relationship with its PR agency, including coordination, follow-ups, and status tracking.
- Assist with internal communications initiatives, including:
- Monthly company-wide updates
- Bamboo Bytes internal newsletter
- Support for executive communications and speaking engagements
- Contribute to BambooHR's Data at Work program by assisting with monthly content and reporting throughout 2026.
- Proofread and edit communications materials with strong attention to detail and brand voice.
- Assist with reporting, tracking, and organizing communications metrics and content calendars.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather information and ensure communications are accurate and aligned.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (graduating in 2027)
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Sharp attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
- Good instincts for tone, audience, and storytelling.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute across multiple communications disciplines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
