Job Summary:
The Communications Specialist supports BNY Mellon’s enterprise communications function by creating, publishing, and coordinating internal content for a global employee audience. This role focuses on writing intranet stories, newsletters, announcements, talking points, and executive-facing materials while partnering closely with creative teams to deliver digital and print assets. The position is based in Pittsburgh, NYC, or Lake Mary, FL with an expectation of working onsite 4 days per week. Work hours are 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM ET.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Content Creation: Write and publish intranet stories (approx. 400 words), announcements, banners, and event content across enterprise channels including MySource, Life at BNY, SharePoint, Poppulo, distribution lists, and digital signage.
- Communications Materials & Messaging: Develop enterprise communications packs, briefing documents, slides, talking points, FAQs, and video scripts to support internal campaigns and leadership messaging.
- Newsletter Production: Produce and manage multiple internal newsletters with consistent tone, formatting, and accuracy.
- Creative Collaboration & Publishing: Partner with creative teams to deliver digital and print assets (event signage, backdrops, internal branding materials) and publish finalized content across owned channels while managing multiple concurrent projects.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of professional writing or communications experience (strong writing skills are non-negotiable)
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Excellent command of written English with strong attention to detail
- Highly organized, self-starter able to work independently in a hybrid environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience using SharePoint and/or email distribution tools
- Prior in-office or hybrid work experience
- Background in large or complex organizations (not required)
- Portfolio or writing samples (e.g., internal communications, newsletters, press releases, human-interest stories)
