Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the University Housing as a Resident Director Administrator on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
- Attends and participates in all required staff meetings and training sessions, as decided on by complex leadership and/or assistant/Associate Director of Residence Education.
- Meets with Resident Director(s) regularly to assess needs of community leadership and team
- Acquires hall supplies and shopping for programming materials to support community programming
- Manages receipts and petty cash, in accordance with all University System of Georgia and departmental expectations
- Maintains accurate records of all transactions and inventory program supplies
- Effectively communicate with the complex leadership team and Resident Advisor peers regarding needs and support areas of the team
- Assists with Eagle Preview or other welcome/Admissions events for incoming students
- Completes administrative duties (printing/copying, scanning, organizing documents/data entry)
- Monitors and organizes staff and clubhouse supplies and equipment used by complex staff members
- Assists with the completion of room inventories and building opening/ closing tasks, especially during Operation Move In and Operation Move Out time periods
- Assists with building maintenance walkthroughs and submitting work orders, as applicable
- Updates building calendar of events
- Assists with building communication methods (email/newsletter/social media)
- Knows, abides by, and serves as a role model for all University Housing policies
- Serves as a professional ambassador for Georgia Southern through appearance, pleasant demeanor, helpful disposition, and responsive attitude
- Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality and appropriate use of access to sensitive information, keys, and card access points
- Appropriately addresses or notifies other staff of the need to address any policy violations or crisis management concerns
- Ensures time worked is correctly recorded and in keeping with the policies set forth by the USG and Human Resources
Shift Specifics
- Up to 25 hours per week
- Flexible with schedule of availability
- Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
- Some shifts available on nights and weekends
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

- Prior role in University Housing
Proposed Salary
$8.75 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
