Our nonprofit client is seeking a flexible and skilled Marketing Content Specialist to support ongoing communications, social media management, and content production. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced nonprofit environment and is comfortable handling a wide range of tasks. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and collaborative. Preference will be given to candidates based in Austin who are familiar with the city's culture, programs, and community landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media
- Plan, draft, and schedule social media posts across all platforms
- Create social media graphics using Canva and similar tools
- Write short-form social media copy
- Create and edit short-form videos for social media posts
- Ensure content aligns with organizational voice, mission, and program needs
Newsletter and Email Marketing
- Support creation of a monthly newsletter by:
- Collecting and organizing content
- Highlighting upcoming events and transit options
- Verifying accuracy of all links and information
- Build and format emails in Neon One (their CRM platform) using templates
- Write light content for newsletters, blogs, and other communications
Digital and Content Support
- Create and update links for published content
- Use Canva to design flyers and promotional materials for events and programs
- Assist with weekly ad hoc content and digital marketing needs
Project Management and Administrative Support
- Maintain clear workflows, systems, and timelines
- Communicate proactively about project updates and deadlines
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail across all deliverables
Requirements
- Experience managing social media content and scheduling
- Strong writing skills for newsletters, blogs, and short form content
- Familiarity with Neon One or similar CRM platforms specialized for nonprofits (preferred)
- Proficiency in Canva and comfort producing basic marketing assets
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Detail oriented, responsive, and able to work independently
- Preferred: Located in Austin with occasional onsite availability and familiarity of local culture and community dynamics
