Would you like to gain hands-on skills in the field of media technology? Are you interested in video and audio editing, graphic design, and improving your written communication skills? This position offers a seasonal and flexible opportunity for those seeking part-time seasonal work and experience in the field of media and communications.
The purpose of this position is to assist with media production for meetings, events, and information through City communication channels and social media. Under the supervision of the Communications Manager, the Media and Communications Intern will assist with the production of government meetings, off-site production work, video and audio editing, graphic design, social media, and general office duties.
Hours/Schedule: Shifts may vary Monday through Friday with occasional weekend and evening hours. Approximately 10 hours per week for eight weeks between the months of June through August.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Pre-production of government meetings, including preparation of agenda graphics and video production setup.
- Post-production of government meetings, including trimming of productions and uploading for broadcast.
- Assist with photographing, filming and editing City department events off-site and other assigned projects.
- Assist with creating posts for social media using photography, graphic design, and written skills.
- Follow the weekly program calendar to schedule Verona’s public access channel.
- General office duties, including updating databases (i.e. e-newsletter contacts).
Qualifications
- Must be 16 or older.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with City staff and the public.
- Ability to exercise judgement, decisiveness, and creativity with strong attention to detail.
- Interest and/or experience in video production, graphic design, photography, social media and/or marketing.
- Must be available to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Tasks may involve light physical work both inside and outside.
