The Communications Generalist will be the primary coordinator of all communications that supports enrollment growth for the Graduate School of Theology. This role will primarily support the work of recruitment marketing for on-campus and online admissions. This role will also support the engagement of current students and bring continuity to the content and branding of all communications in the student lifecycle.
The Augustine Institute Graduate School of Theology exists to make Jesus Christ better known and loved through academic study. Faculty and students alike immerse themselves in the rich sources of the Catholic faith, drawing upon Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church. Through this study, the mind is renewed, and the interior life kindled so that graduates may proclaim the truth to a world that desperately needs it. For this reason, the mission of the Graduate School is 1) biblical 2) ecclesial and 3) missional.
Students at the Augustine Institute are motivated to join this mission, and the Communications Generalist will develop a keen sense of the fitting messaging and content curation to support each stage of the student lifecycle, from prospective students, current students, to alumni. The person in this role must have a deep appreciation for the eternal impact that theological study has on the life of the student and on those to whom the student will minister, and this person must become adept at messaging to recruit and engage students at the Augustine Institute.
The Communications Generalist needs to be effective in implementing a content-centric plan. The goal in recruitment is to share the lived experience of the life of study in the Graduate School of Theology, teaching the audience about the mission of the school, and thereby helping a prospective student discern whether they feel called to join in this mission. The orientation of this work is necessarily outward-facing towards Jesus Christ and His Church, and a Communications Generalist can implement a communications strategy that properly orients the work of the Augustine Institute as a means, not an end, to a life ordered toward knowing and loving God.
The person in this role enjoys working on a small team that is fast-paced, proactive and ready to react based on market data; overcomes obstacles, and pushes projects to the finish line. This person is a creative problem solver, self-starter, excellent communicator (written and oral), has high attention to detail, and values authenticity and content-driven marketing.
The Communications Generalist is a full-time, salaried (exempt) employee reporting to the VP for Enrollment Management.
