Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Reporter to join our team in the San Antonio area in an on-site capacity. The Reporter will be responsible for researching, reporting, and writing timely opinion journalism under the guidance of a senior editor and senior stakeholders. The role involves conducting interviews, writing copy for our weekly newsletter, and collaborating with editors to ensure accuracy and quality. Additionally, the Reporter will stay informed on current events, trends, and emerging ideas relevant to the local mission.
Qualifications
- Proven skills in Reporting, News Writing, and Writing with experience covering politics, culture, or similar topics.
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to effectively interview, collaborate, and engage with various stakeholders.
- Competence in Multimedia storytelling, including working with visual and audio content to complement written reporting.
- Excellent editorial judgment and an ability to synthesize complex ideas for a broad audience.
- Familiarity with trends and developments shaping political and cultural discourse is an advantage.
- General competence and demonstrated talent can make up for a lack of one or all of these qualifications.
Pay Range: $50,000-$60,000
