Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Donor Services and Insights, the Donor Services & Insights Coordinator supports donor stewardship activities by facilitating the gift acknowledgment process, conducting prospect research, and helping ensure donors receive timely and meaningful communication.
The Donor Services & Insights Coordinator also supports annual giving efforts by coordinating annual fundraising campaigns targeting annual fund gifts under $1,000, serving as the internal data contact for direct mail vendors, providing input into the direct response program, and coordinating development mailings such as the newsletter.
In addition, the Coordinator contributes to development strategies that enhance the growth, retention, and engagement of Feeding San Diego’s monthly giving program. The role also supports CRM data integrity in Salesforce and provides occasional administrative support to the development team.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Lead the daily gift acknowledgement preparation, printing, and distribution process
- Oversee the creation, review, and finalization of donor recognition lists, including the Annual Report, online listings, and other areas of donor recognition.
- Make donor appreciation phone calls and hand-written letters
- Coordinate annual fund campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications department, including strategy discussions, coordinating development campaign elements, list/audience management, budget reconciliation, and creating reporting of campaign performance
- Provide valuable strategic input to the direct response program
- Coordinate all development in-house mailings to Feeding San Diego donors, including gift renewals, Quarterly Newsletters, and all other special mailings
- Work the Donor Services and Insights Senior Manager, to implement strategies to grow, retain, and steward Feeding San Diego’s monthly donors (Feed 365)
- Oversee donor list management for direct mail vendors, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness
- Support in data hygiene projects such as NCOA updates, activity uploads, de-duplication, etc.
- Track campaign costs and ROI assessments in Salesforce
- Provide campaign summary reports, year-over analysis, and other analytics to inform data-drive decision making
- Provide ongoing support to relationship managers on prospect qualifications, pipeline development, and other key development activities, with occasional support for other frontline fundraisers
- Assist with donor research projects and portfolio placement using iWave and other methods
- Ensure excellent customer service is provided for donors, volunteers and staff
- Assess and respond to internal and external inquiries about supporting Feeding San Diego
- Give tours, presentations, and answer phone calls to provide general information about the organization
- Assist with event planning details, including stewardship events for members of The Grove and Feed 365
- Assist with other administrative duties as assigned, including filing, budget support and department organization
- Assist with gift entry as needed, particularly during the holiday season
- Supporting in tracking inventory of letters, envelopes, postage, and other development materials.

INTERACTION
The Donor Services & Insights Coordinator interacts closely with development, marketing and communications, and volunteer programs staff, and provides information to staff, donors, potential donors, individuals in need, FSD board, as well as other stakeholders from the community. The position also requires frequent interaction with all FSD staff and volunteers of our community.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit administration, marketing, or related field of study, along with two years of professional experience in nonprofit development, including annual giving strategies and project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Previous donor relations experience preferred
- Experience using a CRM database, Salesforce preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail

- A professional demeanor with an aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving
- Responsible, well organized, and demonstrate initiative

Personal computer, adding machine (10 key), multi-line phone, copier, printer, facsimile machine.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the Agency’s insurance carrier standards.

- Work in an office adjacent to a warehouse setting with occasional travel to other locations in San Diego County.
- Prioritizes and multi-task work and projects requiring good memory, concentration, and analytical thinking.
- Occasionally it is required to perform the safe operation of office equipment and machines and recognize and abate safety hazards within the workplace.
- Perform work in an office and warehouse space housing warehouse operations, which may occasionally create an exposure to dust and pollen.
- The noise level in the work environment varies and can be considered moderate.

PAY & HOURS
$25.00 - $27 per hour
Hybrid M, T, TH in office and W & F remote, occasional evenings and weekends
