Coordinate, develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote school meals to consumers. Collaborate and implement nutrition and wellness education initiatives that support student health and educational achievement. Maintain positive social media status for department. Create and distribute media releases, assist with requests, work with district and community partners on a variety of initiatives.
- With oversight from the Marketing Supervisor, develop, implement and execute all marketing promotions in support of driving increased meal participation and wellness awareness
- Generate marketing content (original text, images, graphics, video and HTML) edit and publish content that builds meaningful connections with the community. Engage on conversations on behalf of the department
- Track and analyze analytics reports to gain insight on traffic, demographics and effectiveness. Develop strategies to increase engagement with department platforms. Report in a timely manner
- Coordinate Farm to School activities with campuses, district staff, distributors and community partners
- Optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the district's social content
- Work with Menu Planning Team and digital content vendors to ensure goals for education and nutrition awareness are reached through menu application and digital monitors
- Research, prepare and compile data and other documents for projects, presentations, articles and reports
- Collaborate with Menu Planning Team on performing taste testing of new and existing products to assess and report on acceptability utilizing surveys and google analytics
- Create media releases, respond to website questions, media and concerns in a timely manner
- Compose department's newsletter, articles, presentations, talking points and other digital and printed material. Create media releases, respond to website questions, media and concerns in a timely manner
- Provide regular feedback to supervisor regarding the status of project progress, social media strategies and promotions. Ensure all written documentation has supervisor's approval before preceding
- Occasionally required to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Marketing, Communications, Public Health, Nutrition Dietetics, Hospitality, Science or directly related field
- School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) certification preferred
- Two years' experience of direct digital marketing design, social media or relevant field
- Experience in public speaking skills for interviews and presentations. Excellent writing and editing skills in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Experience managing marketing promotions using various techniques is a plus
- Advance experience using MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, G Suite, Video Editing software is a plus
- Superb communication (both orally and in writing) and public speaking skills to connect with diverse cultures and background in English and Spanish (preferred) through focus groups, interviews, presentations and promotions. Ability to assimilate complex ideas and detailed information into well written, spoken and visual communication
- Excellent organizational, management and interpersonal skills. Good problem solving and critical thinking skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage many concurrent projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of nutrients, menu planning and wellness. Must be familiar with Dietary Guidelines for Americans and Institute of Medicine (IOM). Must understand the importance of technology and automation in data capture analysis. Must also be able to analyze productivity performance results and take appropriate action
- Create engaging content for the district's social media presence, including keeping social media channels updated and brand focused and seeking out new ways to connect with customers and stakeholders
- Ability to deliver creative web context (text, image and video). Expertise in use of social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, amongst other platforms. Ability to becoming well versed on the story brand framework and art of storytelling
- Ability to work outside the normal office schedule (for events, health fair, PTO meetings, etc.)
- Ability to create monthly, quarterly and annual reports
