Caddy is reshaping the moving industry. What started as a better way to move has grown into a multi-brand ecosystem, each built to solve a real problem in an industry that's been ignored by innovation for decades. We're growing fast, and we're just getting started.
We're looking for our first Director of Marketing & Communications to own the full marketing function — someone who can land our CEO on a top podcast on Monday, neutralize a bad review on Tuesday, and shape the content strategy across our brand portfolio by Friday. This role is equal parts strategist, storyteller, and executor.
What You'll Own
- Pitch our CEO to local and national media including news segments, business features, podcasts, and industry publications
- Build and maintain relationships with producers, journalists, and editors
- Identify and manage award nominations and applications across business, industry, and leadership categories
- Manage all inbound media requests, protecting the CEO's time while maximizing the right opportunities
- Ghostwrite thought leadership content — LinkedIn posts, op-eds, contributed articles, and potential newsletter content
- Own and evolve the company's core public narratives
- Develop and maintain a crisis communications playbook and serve as the first responder when issues arise
Reputation Management
- Monitor and manage our presence across Google Reviews, BBB, Trustpilot, Yelp, Glassdoor, Facebook, and emerging platforms
- Respond to negative reviews with speed, professionalism, and brand-consistent tone
- Proactively generate positive press coverage and content that strengthens public sentiment and improves visibility in both traditional and AI-driven search
- Escalate operational issues surfaced through reviews to the appropriate internal teams
- Track review scores and sentiment trends with regular reporting to leadership
Brand Strategy & Storytelling
- Define and document the brand voice, visual identity guidelines, and messaging framework across our portfolio of brands
- Ensure every piece of content, social post, and public communication reflects the right brand identity
- Deeply understand the unique story, audience, and mission of each brand and translate that into content that cultivates genuine emotional connection
- Conduct competitive and market intelligence — track competitor marketing, industry trends, and emerging opportunities
Who You Are
Experience & Background
- 5–8 years of experience in marketing, communications, or PR — ideally a mix of both strategic and hands-on execution
- Demonstrated track record of landing media placements (not just pitching — actually getting coverage)
- Experience managing a brand's online reputation and understanding of review platform dynamics
- Strong understanding of SEO principles, content marketing, and social media strategy
- Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or external partners
- A portfolio or examples of brand storytelling, content creation, or PR wins
AI Fluency (Required)
- You use AI tools to draft content, generate briefs, brainstorm pitches, analyze data, and accelerate research as a normal part of how you work
- You understand how to prompt effectively, iterate on AI outputs, and apply human judgment to refine results
- You have a perspective on how AI is changing search, content discovery, and SEO — and you're already adapting
- You're curious and experimental — when a new AI tool or workflow emerges, you try it before someone tells you to
Traits That Matter Here
- You are a self-starter who doesn't need to be managed — you see what needs to happen and you move
- You write exceptionally well and can shift voice across brands and formats without losing quality
- You're equally comfortable crafting a polished press pitch and jumping into a review response
- You think in narratives, not just campaigns — you understand that brand is built through consistent storytelling over time
- You're protective of the brand and the CEO's reputation and treat both with the seriousness they deserve
- You thrive in a fast-paced, building-stage environment where the playbook doesn't exist yet — you're writing it
Compensation & Benefits
