This is a part-time hybrid role (minimum 20 hours per week) with a combination of remote and onsite days in Ann Arbor, Michigan each week.

Job Purpose:
The Junior Communications Designer supports the development of print and digital design materials in collaboration with senior design staff. This role is responsible for creating visually engaging collateral, including print layouts and digital graphics, while ensuring consistency with organizational branding. The position requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with motion graphics or 3D modeling experience considered a plus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design digital communications such as newsletter layouts, email, and website graphics.
- Develop event collateral such as banners, apparel, brochures, and booklets.
- Create promotional materials including advertisements, flyers, and social media graphics.
- Design presentation materials, including slide decks and templates.
- Collaborate with senior designers to execute creative concepts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must have or be eligible to obtain a government security clearance.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless legally exempt.
- Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule; work is a mix of remote and onsite days each week.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, advertising design, or a related field, or currently pursuing a degree.
- Some professional or internship experience in design or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
This position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background screening, which may include checks for criminal history, driving records, financial history, and education verification, as permitted by law.
