Job Description
The Marketing and Research Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the Edmond Economic Development Authority (EEDA) by leading strategic marketing, storytelling, and research initiatives that drive wealth creation and job growth in Edmond.
This position blends data-driven analysis with creative marketing execution to position Edmond as a premier destination for business investment. The Manager is responsible for telling Edmond’s story through compelling content, innovative campaigns, and a strong digital presence, while also delivering critical research insights that support business attraction, retention, and expansion.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, forward-thinking professional who can work independently, think outside the box, and translate complex data into clear, impactful messaging and strategies.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, campaigns, and materials that promote Edmond’s economic development opportunities
- Create, manage, and maintain the organization’s website and newsletter, ensuring content is current, engaging, and aligned with EEDA’s brand and goals
- Plan and implement a strategic social media presence, including content creation, scheduling, and performance tracking to increase engagement and visibility
- Tell Edmond’s story through compelling narratives, branding, and multimedia content that highlight the community’s assets and opportunities
- Monitor and analyze website and digital marketing analytics, using insights to improve performance and guide decision-making
- Conduct in-depth research and data analysis to support business attraction, retention, expansion, and workforce development initiatives
- Research economic and demographic data relevant to Edmond’s business environment
- Compile annual reports
- Utilize and become proficient in data platforms such as Costar, Buxton, Esri and similar tools
- Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and grant applications to secure funding and communicate key initiatives
- Assist with events, forums, and promotional activities that support business engagement and community development
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
- Perform additional duties and special projects as needed to support EEDA’s mission
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in marketing, research, economic development, or a related area
- Strong analytical and research skills, with experience in data interpretation and visualization
- Demonstrated experience managing digital marketing platforms, including websites, email marketing (newsletters), and social media
- Experience using website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to measure and improve performance
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to translate data into compelling stories
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and marketing software
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience in economic development, government, or public-private partnerships
- Familiarity with GIS mapping tools and business intelligence platforms
Work Environment
- Office setting with occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and community events
- Flexibility to attend events outside regular business hours as needed
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform routine physical tasks
- May be required to lift up to 25 pounds
