The Opportunity
We are seeking a Trader whose primary discipline is technical analysis, applied to public equities and digital assets. This person will own the timing and execution of entries and exits across our long/short book, translating the research team’s fundamental convictions into precisely timed trades using price action, chart patterns, and momentum frameworks.
This role is ideal for someone who thinks in terms of levels, structure, and flow — and who thrives in a high-accountability, performance-driven environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Apply technical analysis frameworks — chart patterns, support/resistance, volume analysis, momentum indicators, and market structure — to identify optimal entry and exit points across the long/short equity book.
- Run a disciplined morning and afternoon process: review key levels, assess price action across positions and watchlists, and flag setups that are approaching actionable zones.
- Execute trades across market orders, limit orders, and hedging strategies, interfacing directly with brokerage counterparties.
- Maintain a trade journal documenting setups, execution rationale, and outcomes to build a continuous feedback loop on performance.
- Use tools such as TradingView, FinViz, and Koyfin fluently as part of daily workflow for screening, charting, and monitoring.
- Monitor portfolio net exposures to sectors, factors, and investment themes; suggest exposure adjustments as market conditions evolve.
- Track favorable and unfavorable thematic trends using our in-house analytics platform.
- Actively review portfolios for tax loss harvesting opportunities and implement substitutions.
- Use our backtesting engine to test and refine strategies, contributing to the evolution of the team’s investment process.
- Remain current on market trends through independent research, translating insights into actionable ideas for the portfolio team.
- Maintain a culture of personal accountability and strive for excellence in market performance.
Candidate Profile
Core Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience trading financial markets, with a demonstrable track record of using technical analysis as a primary decision-making tool.
- Deep fluency in price action, chart patterns, volume profiles, and momentum indicators. You should be able to articulate your TA framework and show how it has informed real trades.
- Expertise in trading public equities; experience with digital assets is a strong plus.
- Proficient with TradingView, FinViz, Koyfin, and similar platforms.
- CMT (Chartered Market Technician) or CFA designation preferred.
Mindset & Attributes
- Obsessed about financial markets
- Strong pattern recognition and market intuition, combined with the discipline to wait for setups rather than chase.
- Systems thinker with high personal agency — you build processes, track results, and iterate.
- Contrarian but curious: willing to challenge consensus, but intellectually honest enough to update your views.
- Accountability mindset and beginner’s mindset — always learning, always refining.
- History of high achievement in demanding, competitive environments.
- Willingness to study and learn independently
- Competitive nature
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- ENTJ or INTJ personality type; systems thinker
