Senior Product Operations Analyst
Contract (with potential to convert to full-time)

SMART IT People is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Product Operations Analyst to join our client's team. This position will focus on product catalog work and building out that process for the first 6-8 months. The role will also be responsible for driving operational excellence within the product management organization, ensuring seamless processes and cross-functional collaboration to support product launches, lifecycle management, and management of our evolving product catalog.

Preferred Experience
- Experience Managing Partner relationships
- Experience in the cloud, hosting, MSP, and / or telecom industry
- Experience managing product catalogs or related data assets, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality assurance
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Analytics, or related field;
- 5+ years of experience in product operations, business analytics, or a related role
Job description:
• Deliver a trusted product catalog as a business system of record by improving
catalog accuracy, standardization, and operational controls.
• Increase quoting and pricing consistency through normalized SKUs, repeatable
configuration patterns, and governed quoting system/configurator setup.
• Improve product lifecycle execution by strengthening PDP governance, driving end-
of-life readiness, and ensuring changes are implemented cleanly across catalog and
quoting.
• Enable Sales and partners with clear, current product information via
communications and enablement assets (Product Pulse, Master Services Guide,
Availability Guide) and partner contact stewardship.
• Create a closed-loop feedback mechanism that captures field and partner feedback,
translates it into actionable operational changes, and tracks outcomes.
• Establish KPI ownership and executive-ready reporting for catalog accuracy, end-of-
life compliance, sales enablement satisfaction, and product development
velocity/output.
• Strengthen partner program governance by supporting managed services partners
with program requirements, scorecards, compliance tracking, and performance
reporting.
Responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve the product catalog across commercial pricing models, SKU structures, and product metadata; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Maintain catalog lifecycle hygiene (SKU normalization, attribute standards, naming conventions, and change control) to enable consistent quoting, reporting, and
downstream integrations.
- Configure and govern quoting/catalog systems, including quoting system configuration, guided selling configurators, and configuration patterns aligned to
standardized pricing logic.
- Run catalog quality controls by monitoring data integrity, resolving discrepancies, implementing preventive controls, and driving compliance to catalog standards.
- Ensure integrity and alignment of product data across systems
- Partner cross-functionally (Product, Sales, Finance, Engineering, and Operations) to execute catalog expansions, launches, and updates with minimal rework.
- Analyze and optimize product operations workflows, identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
- Partner with product managers, engineering, and business stakeholders to streamline launch processes and manage end-to-end product lifecycle activities
(including end-of-life execution).
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards, KPIs, and reporting to track product metrics, inform decisions, and drive measurable improvements. (including catalog accuracy, end-of-life compliance, and sales enablement satisfaction).
- Drive process documentation, standardization, and adoption of best practices across teams (including PDP governance, innovation/research intake, and product feedback loops).
- Facilitate communication and enablement assets such as Product Pulse newsletter support, Master Services Guide revisions, Availability Guide maintenance, and partner contact list stewardship.
- Manage Managed Services Partners and govern performance within partner programs (program requirements, tiers/status, scorecards, compliance, and executive reporting).
