About the Organization
Lift Louisiana’s mission is to build a better Louisiana by advocating for reproductive health, rights, and justice. We use litigation, legislation, policy advocacy with government agencies and private institutions, community engagement, and organizing to advance reproductive justice. In particular, Lift works to ensure access to pregnancy care, abortion services, comprehensive sex education, affordable contraception, gender affirming care, and to protect the rights of all pregnant people. Lift is committed to ensuring that individuals’ reproductive rights are not compromised because of their race, gender, class, age or ability, and believes that reproductive rights must be informed by broader racial and social justice considerations. We accomplish this work through strategic and impactful legal advocacy, litigation, policy initiatives, public education, and community organizing.
