Role Description
This is a remote, contract position for candidates currently based in the Greater New York City Area only for a Lead Editor at IBT Media. Applicants must reside within the New York City metropolitan region (including surrounding areas of New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester, and Connecticut) and be available to work Eastern Time Zone business hours.
The Lead Editor will oversee the editorial team, develop and execute content strategies, ensure high-quality editorial standards, and manage the production of engaging content. Responsibilities include editing and reviewing articles, mentoring writers, upholding deadlines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The Lead Editor will play a crucial role in maintaining the voice, accuracy, and integrity of IBT Media's editorial output.
Compensation: $10,000 USD per month ($120,000 USD per year).
Qualifications
- Must currently reside in the Greater New York City Area
- Strong skills in Editing, Proofreading, and Content Quality Assurance
- Experience in Content Strategy development and Editorial Management
- Exceptional skills in Writing and Content Creation
- Familiarity with Journalism, Reporting, and Story Development
- Ability to mentor and manage diverse writing and editorial teams
- Understanding of digital media trends and audience engagement
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Proven experience in a senior editorial role, preferably in digital media
