Director of Community Relations
Tradition, Port St. Lucie, FL
Tradition isn't just another Florida master-planned community. It's a vibrant community on the Treasure Coast that has been quietly building one of the most active, connected, and well-loved resident cultures in the state. We're looking for the person who will lead what happens next.
If you're the kind of person who lights up planning a major Fourth of July celebration, knows how to make a brand-new resident feel like they've lived here for years, and has strong opinions about what makes a great event versus a forgettable one, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Actually Do
You'll own the lifestyle program for one of Florida's premier master-planned communities. That means you'll be the architect of how thousands of residents experience life here, from the welcome event for the family that just closed last week to the signature seasonal events people plan their year around.
On a typical week, you might be:
• Walking the Town Center on a Saturday morning, talking to residents about what they wish we offered (and writing it down)
• Sitting with your team to map out next quarter's calendar, looking at what hit, what flopped, and why
• On the phone with a local chef about a pop-up dinner series
• Reviewing creative for the next newsletter and pushing back when it doesn't sound like Tradition
• Hosting a wine-and-paint night and noticing which residents haven't connected yet, then making sure they do
• Pitching the budget for a new programming initiative you believe in
It's a job for someone who genuinely likes people, has the operational chops to run a complex calendar and budget, and has the creative instincts to know what will actually land.
What We Need From You
• 5+ years running lifestyle programs, events, hospitality operations, or community engagement, ideally somewhere with a high bar for guest experience (think country clubs, hotels, resorts, master-planned communities, or membership organizations)
• A track record of executing events from intimate gatherings to large-scale signature productions, and the budget management experience that comes with it
• Real leadership skills. You'll oversee a Lifestyle Manager and work cross-functionally with developer, HOA, and marketing partners
• Sharp communication instincts, both in person and on the page. You'll be the voice of the lifestyle program in newsletters, social, and resident communications
• Comfort with the rhythm of community life, which means evening events, weekend programming, and being visible to residents
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, and the digital tools that make a modern lifestyle operation run
What Makes This Different
A lot of lifestyle director jobs are this title in name only. This one isn't.
• Scale and resources to do it right. Tradition has the amenities, the budget, and the resident base to support real, ambitious programming. You won't be planning bingo in a clubhouse. You'll be building something.
• A real team behind you. You're part of OnPlace Collective, which supports master-planned communities across Texas and Florida. That means access to a network of peers, shared best practices, and the kind of professional development you don't get in a one-off lifestyle role.
• Career trajectory. Strong performers in this seat have a path. Regional roles, multi-property leadership, and corporate roles within OnPlace are all real possibilities, not vague promises.
• A community you'll be proud to represent. Tradition has won industry recognition, has a strong developer commitment, and is the kind of place residents talk about with affection, not just as an address.
A Quick Word About the Area
Port St. Lucie sits on Florida's Treasure Coast, about an hour north of West Palm Beach and 90 minutes south of Orlando. The cost of living is dramatically lower than South Florida, the beaches are 15 minutes away, and the area has been one of the fastest-growing in the country for the last decade. If you're open to relocating from a higher-cost market, your money goes a lot further here, and the lifestyle is genuinely good.
Compensation and Benefits
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience (range to be discussed in initial conversation)
• Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
• 401(k) with company match
• Generous PTO, 8 paid holidays, plus 2 floating holidays
• Professional development budget and access to OnPlace's network of community-building experts
