Treetop Yoga is a well-established, community-rooted yoga studio in Gloucester, MA. We are looking for a Studio Operations Manager who wants to be a real part of what we have built here -- someone who takes pride in a well-run operation, is comfortable with sales, and can manage the moving parts of a busy studio with confidence and good judgment.
This is not a front desk role. We need someone who can manage desk staff associates, drive membership growth, and take genuine ownership of day-to-day operations. Experience in fitness, wellness, or hospitality is a plus, but the right combination of operational skill, sales instinct, and people management matters more than industry background.
This is a part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week, with a mix of in-studio and remote work. Some evening and weekend availability is expected. There is real flexibility in how hours are structured, and a meaningful portion of the work can be done on your own schedule. Compensation is hourly plus commission on membership sales. The role includes a complimentary studio membership.
Candidates who hold a yoga or Pilates teaching certification may have the opportunity to teach on the studio schedule, with additional hours and compensation beyond the operations role.
Serious applicants should attach a current resume.
Operations and Administration
- Manages day-to-day studio operations, including systems, scheduling, vendor relationships, and communications with landlord and building contacts.
- Supervises and supports desk staff associates, ensuring consistent client experience and adherence to studio standards.
- Oversees onboarding and training of new desk staff and instructors, maintaining clear records and supporting a consistent staff experience.
- Manages instructor communications, sub requests, and schedule coverage; coordinates with a lead teacher on instructor auditions and evaluations, or leads that process directly if the candidate holds a yoga or Pilates teaching certification.
- Maintains studio technology -- troubleshooting issues and coordinating purchase or replacement of equipment (iPads, microphones, computers) as needed.
- Keeps studio spaces, props, and common areas clean, stocked, and well maintained; coordinates supply orders, laundry, and mid-week housekeeping as needed.
- Makes and communicates snow day and studio closure decisions.
- Keeps Treetop listings current across Google, Apple Maps, and partner platforms.
Booking Systems and Client Services
- Serves as primary administrator for Walla, our studio management platform: class setup, pricing, promotions, workshop enrollments, teacher schedules, journeys, and VOD library.
- Manages private appointments, studio rentals, and private party bookings.
- Monitors and responds to client communications via email and Referrizer in a timely, professional manner.
- Trains and supports teachers and desk staff on Walla and studio systems.
Sales and Membership
- Proactively connects with clients about their experience and guides them toward the right membership or package.
- Tracks intro offer leads and follows up consistently to support conversion.
- Conducts weekly follow-ups on unpaid accounts and new client check-ins.
- Identifies and flags recurring objections or concerns for ownership review.
Marketing and Community
- Manages newsletter production, social media support, and post boosting in collaboration with the studio owner.
- Submits events to Cape Ann Chamber and Discover Gloucester; attends relevant local networking events and wellness fairs on behalf of the studio.
- Responds to donation requests, gift certificate inquiries, and requests for teachers at corporate events, wellness fairs, and special events.
- Google Ads experience is a strong plus -- familiarity with managing or optimizing campaigns preferred.
Retreat Support
- Provides logistical support for the studio's annual international retreat: traveler communications, We Travel platform management, and fielding general inquiries. Retreat planning and leadership remains with the studio owner.
What We're Looking For
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities without a lot of hand-holding.
- Confident in sales conversations and genuinely invested in client outcomes.
- A clear, professional communicator -- with clients, staff, and vendors alike.
- Tech-savvy and quick to learn new systems; experience with studio management software a plus.
- Google Ads and social media marketing experience strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, or a similarly fast-paced service environment preferred.
A genuine appreciation for yoga and what a studio like this means to a community goes a long way
