We have a new opportunity for a Communications & Marketing summer intern to support our growing communications, marketing, and thought leadership function. This is a strong opportunity for an undergrad or grad student who is interested in healthcare communications, public affairs, digital marketing, policy, or consulting.
Position Overview
The Communications & Marketing intern will work closely with our head of communications and marketing to learn and support day-to-day marketing and communications activities, including research, list development, social and digital content, internal communications, event support, and general marketing operations. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, organized, detail-oriented, and interested in learning how communications strategy supports business growth in the healthcare sector.
Opportunities
The intern may support work including:
- Conducting background research on healthcare policy, market access, digital health, MedTech, diagnostics, specialty care, and related topics.
- Building and maintaining basic media lists, stakeholder lists, event lists, and tracking documents.
- Monitoring relevant healthcare news, policy developments, competitor activity, and industry trends.
- Supporting research for thought leadership, LinkedIn content, newsletters, presentations, and business development materials.
- Drafting and editing social media copy, primarily for LinkedIn.
- Helping repurpose longer-form content, such as articles, webinars, or presentations, into shorter marketing assets.
- Supporting internal communications projects, including staff updates, newsletter content, and company announcements.
- Providing administrative and logistical support for communications, marketing, and events as needed.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, with interest in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, public health, health policy, business, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, research, and organizational skills.
- Interest in healthcare, health policy, digital health, MedTech, life sciences, or consulting.
- Comfortable working remotely and managing multiple small projects at once.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, Canva, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or project management tools is a plus.
- Prior internship or campus experience in communications, marketing, journalism, public affairs, policy, or healthcare is helpful.

Work Arrangement
This is a remote internship, with a preference for candidates based in or near Washington, DC. Occasional in-person meetings or events in the DC area may be requested, depending on schedule and availability.
Compensation
- This position pays $22/hour. Hours and schedule will be determined based on business needs and the intern’s availability.
