Fromm is a trusted and independently-owned electrical distributor serving the Mid-Atlantic region from its base in Pennsylvania. With eight supply counters and a central distribution warehouse, Fromm provides a wide range of electrical products and services for industrial, commercial construction, and residential markets. Committed to reliability and expertise, the company ensures consistent product availability and professional support for its customers. Fromm has a strong local presence and values customer relationships built on trust and quality service.
SUMMARY:
The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for planning, creating, and managing communications that support Fromm's sales organization, supplier partnerships, and internal associate engagement. This role serves as the primary content creator and communications owner for day-to-day marketing initiatives, ensuring timely, effective, and on-brand messaging across internal and external channels.
This is a communications and content role. The position is focused on clear, effective, on-brand messaging that drives action and keeps Fromm’s sales teams, suppliers, and associates informed and equipped. Website development, technical SEO/SEM, and E-Commerce execution are owned by a separate digital function, allowing this role to concentrate on communications excellence and responsiveness to the needs of the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build the sales-support materials the construction and industrial teams rely on to win business, including promotional content, sales emails, presentations, and counter/event materials, serving as a responsive partner to sales leadership.
- Plan and execute communications tied to supplier partnerships and promotions, ensuring messaging aligns with co-op/MDF expectations and campaign goals, including customer-facing emails and automated workflows built in partnership with marketing operations.
- Own associate-facing communications: company newsletter, intranet (SharePoint), Powerline, digital signage, culture and recognition initiatives, and executive announcements, partnering with department leaders and leadership.
- Support company culture, recognition, and engagement initiatives through communications programs, storytelling, employee recognition content, and promotion of organizational values and culture initiatives.
- Maintain Fromm's social media presence and content calendar (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), and build a marketing communications calendar that keeps publishing consistent and strategically aligned across channels and throughout the year.
- Coordinate communication projects across multiple departments, balancing priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations while maintaining a high level of responsiveness.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate ideation, drafting, repurposing, and production, remaining the human in the loop responsible for editorial judgment, accuracy, brand standards, and legal compliance (including copyright) on everything that goes out.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English. Turning a business objective into clear, persuasive, on-brand communication is the core of this role.
- Strong copywriting judgment focused on message effectiveness and driving action, not aesthetics alone.
- Proficiency using AI-assisted content creation tools (such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms) to accelerate research, ideation, drafting, editing, and content repurposing while maintaining editorial ownership and accountability for final output.
- Experience producing B2B sales-support materials (flyers, promotions, emails, presentations) in a fast-paced, request-driven environment.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, calendars, and stakeholders, and prioritize effectively under high request volume.
- Familiarity with business social media and email marketing best practices; comfort working within brand standards and collaborating with design and digital resources for specialized execution.
- Strong interviewing and storytelling skills, with the ability to gather information from subject matter experts and translate it into compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and stakeholders in a deadline-driven environment.
- Hands-on MS Office experience; familiarity with SharePoint and email marketing tools a plus. Basic familiarity with website content management systems and design collaboration workflows is beneficial; advanced web development and graphic design expertise are not required. BS in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The position requires sitting for extended periods of time and occasionally talking to customers and suppliers on the phone.
