Be part of the Admissions team that serves as the front door to the university, shaping the first impressions that change the lives of prospective students and their families. This in-office position coordinates the creative development, design, and messaging strategy behind undergraduate recruitment publications, marketing campaigns, and communications, bringing both vision and execution to how the university presents itself to the next generation of students. The position also manages mailing processes, prospective student data, and outreach to a diverse group of stakeholders in support of the Office of Admissions’ recruitment mission.

Position Details
General Statement
The Office of Admissions leads the university’s efforts in marketing, recruitment, application processing, and orientation for new undergraduate students, while maintaining the records and upholding the policies and procedures set by the Board of Regents and University regarding admissions, residency, transfer credit, and enrollment. We are a focused, high-energy team committed to connecting students with opportunity in higher education, and we’re looking for someone who brings that same sense of purpose. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, communicates with clarity, and is genuinely motivated by the chance to play a meaningful role in shaping how students experience the university for the very first time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage calendar of promotional communications, including publications, email, and mailings, collaborating with Admissions team members to generate and edit content and meet deadlines for undergraduate student recruitment.
- Coordinate updating, proofing, printing, and logistics of marketing materials and publications.
- Coordinate large-scale printing and mailing logistics with off-campus partners.
- Collaborate with University Communications and printing partners to enhance, design, and update new student recruitment print, email, online, and electronic communications.
- Manage inventory, storage, logistics of publications and marketing materials.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with a wide variety of campus departments and partners.
- Extract and harmonize mailing data from university databases (such as Banner and the CRM).
- Oversee student address updates/corrections provided by the USPS in the CRM and MSU database (Banner).
- Assist the Director of Admissions with special projects, as needed
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Professional experience with marketing or graphic design, and experience with project management and associated design programs such as Canva.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or Communications.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills, with an eye for design, layout, and messaging in print communications.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Experience with college/university student recruitment efforts.
- Experience with marketing or graphic design, and experience with project management and associated design programs such as Canva.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or Communications.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Demonstrated ability in effectively coordinating/organizing/prioritizing detailed work and meeting deadlines under minimal supervision, while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional approach.
- Demonstrated ability designing, formatting, and proofing business correspondence and electronic communications.
- Create and develop content to engage a diverse population of prospective students in the process of pursuing higher education.
- Experience, or interest and willingness to learn, data processing and extraction from databases such as Banner and the CRM.
- Demonstrated ability developing and maintaining detailed, accurate record keeping systems.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in accurately following administrative policies, requirements, and procedures.
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with consistency.
- Effectively operate work-related equipment.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively with employees and the public in person, over the phone and by email.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to represent the Office of Admissions and its programs to others in a professional and courteous manner.
