We are seeking a talented and experienced Digital Ad Operations Specialist to join our team.
The Digital Ad Ops Specialist is a critical hire for Firecrown's Revenue Operations team. This person will own the end-to-end execution of digital advertising campaigns across our portfolio of brands, serving as the connective tissue between sales, editorial, and our technology stack. You will manage trafficking, reporting, yield optimization, and platform relationships while helping build the operational systems that allow our sales teams to sell and deliver with confidence.
This is a high-visibility role with real influence over how Firecrown scales its digital revenue. You will work directly with the VP, Media Operations and cross-functional leaders across all business units.
This position is open to remote candidates within the U.S. but will prioritize candidates within commuting distance to Chattanooga, TN.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Execution and Trafficking
- Traffic and manage all direct-sold digital advertising campaigns across Firecrown brand sites, newsletters, and video properties
- Own the full campaign lifecycle from IO receipt through delivery, optimization, and post-campaign reporting
- Manage ad tags, creative assets, and QA across desktop, mobile, and email environments
- Ensure campaigns are pacing correctly and proactively flag delivery issues to account managers and sales
Platform and Technology Management
- Serve as the primary administrator for Firecrown's ad serving platform (Google Ad Manager) and related tools including AdOrbit
- Manage programmatic demand relationships including PMPs, programmatic direct deals, and open exchange partners
- Troubleshoot ad rendering issues across site environments and coordinate with development and editorial teams on technical resolutions
- Evaluate and implement new ad tech vendors, formats, and capabilities as the portfolio grows
Yield Optimization and Revenue Operations
- Monitor and optimize inventory yield across direct-sold and programmatic channels
- Build and maintain reporting dashboards and weekly delivery reports for internal stakeholders and clients
- Identify underperforming inventory and work with leadership to develop packaging, pricing, or product improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the client delivery, marketing, and sales teams to provide pre-sale availability checks, spec guidance, and custom execution support for larger client programs
- Work with editorial and design on sponsored content placements, native ad integrations, and branded content deliverables
- Support the Client Success team on reporting, makegoods, and campaign renewals
- Serve as the internal expert on ad product capabilities, helping sales position and spec new digital offerings
Qualifications
Required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in digital advertising operations, preferably within a media publisher environment
- Hands-on proficiency with Google Ad Manager (GAM) or a comparable enterprise ad server
- Solid understanding of programmatic advertising, header bidding, and demand-side platform dynamics
- Experience with ad operations workflow tools such as Asana, Jira, AdOrbit, Operative, or similar order management systems
- Strong command of campaign reporting, Excel or Google Sheets-based analysis, and data interpretation
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously
- Clear, confident communicator who can translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
- Experience supporting a multi-brand or multi-site publisher with diverse content verticals
- Familiarity with email ad operations, newsletter sponsorship tracking, and video ad delivery
- Exposure to CRM or sales workflow platforms such as Salesforce, or HubSpot
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where processes are still being built
