About The Role
Barron's is seeking a versatile, highly skilled Story Editor to shape both our fast-paced daily digital coverage and our flagship weekly print magazine. In this role, you will act as a cornerstone of our editing desk, playing a crucial part in elevating the writing and storytelling across our entire newsroom.

You Will
- Perform First Edits: Execute comprehensive initial edits on features and columns assigned by others, shaping narrative flow, structure, and argument.
- Elevate Storytelling: Act as a collaborative partner to writers and assigning editors, actively working to lift up the overall quality of writing and storytelling within the newsroom.
- Manage Daily Digital Copy: Deftly edit daily digital articles for clarity, accuracy, and impact under tight deadlines.
- Polish and Finalize: Execute rigorous copy editing—from substantial rewrites to meticulous final proofreading—catching lapses in logic, style, and grammar.
- Craft Display Copy: Write punchy, search-optimized headlines and engaging captions that draw readers in.
- Drive the Publishing Workflow: Publish articles smoothly across digital platforms (e.g., WordPress) throughout the week and prepare final copy for print production.
You Have
- Experienced: Possesses a minimum of five years of editing experience in financial journalism, with a proven track record of sharpening ambitious writing.
- Financially Fluent: Highly knowledgeable about financial markets, economics, and investing.
- A Precision Editor: Skilled at bringing clarity and zest to complex financial writing, with an eagle eye for detail.
- Fast and Adaptable: Accurate and unflappable under tight daily and weekly deadlines.
- Highly Collaborative: A team player who communicates constructively and builds strong working relationships with writers and fellow editors.

Base Pay Range: $130,000 - $153,000
