Reports to: Founder, Birds Uncaged
Location: Remote
Schedule: 6-week contract sprint, hours flexible to deliverables (August 1 – mid-September 2026)
Status: Contract
Who We Are:
Birds Uncaged is Nikkia Reveillac's coaching and community business, built on nearly two decades of experience in executive roles at Netflix, Twitter, and Colgate-Palmolive. Its centerpiece is The Nest, a paid membership community on Circle, alongside individual coaching offers including Clarity Calls and a full coaching package. Together, they help members find their own version of professional and personal freedom.
Birds Uncaged is entering a new phase: a refreshed pricing structure, new programming, and a renewed push to grow membership in The Nest. We're looking for someone who can bring real community-building expertise to bear on both the member experience inside The Nest and the growth engine that brings new members in the door.
The Opportunity:
Birds Uncaged seeks a Community & Growth Lead to run a focused, six-week engagement diagnosing and strengthening the member experience inside The Nest, our flagship community, then building and executing a lead generation strategy to grow membership. Reporting directly to the founder, this role is ideal for someone who found their calling in community building a long time ago, someone who lights up talking about what makes people feel like they belong somewhere, and who has the track record to back that passion up, because for this person, the two have never been separate things. We're looking for someone who wants ownership over a defined body of work, with a clear scope and a clean finish line, and who will bring the same care to this community that they'd bring to one they built themselves.
This is intentionally structured as a paid trial engagement. This part-time contract position has the potential to grow into an ongoing paid relationship if the fit is right on both sides.
Responsibilities:
Community Diagnosis & Strengthening
- Audit The Nest's current engagement, activation, and retention patterns.
- Identify where members lurk instead of participate, and why.
- Assess current onboarding, social proof, and community architecture.
- Audit the monthly newsletter (hosted on Squarespace) for open/click performance, content mix, and its role in driving members into The Nest.
- Audit existing automated workflows inside The Nest (onboarding sequences, recurring prompts, and other Circle automations) for where they're working and where they're leaking members.
- Audit existing social media channels for how well they build awareness of Creator Convos, live coaching sessions, and other events, and how effectively clips from those events are being repurposed and shared afterward.
- Implement retention or activation fixes inside The Nest based on audit findings.
Growth Strategy & Execution
- Develop a lead generation and growth strategy tailored to Birds Uncaged's offers (community membership, coaching packages, Clarity Calls).
- Recommend specific acquisition channels with clear rationale tailored to Birds Uncaged.
- Propose and build a funnel from first touch to paid membership.
- Build and launch one acquisition channel or growth initiative from the strategy.
- Give an honest assessment of the current pricing strategy as it relates to growth and conversion, and flag where it may be helping or hurting acquisition.
- Monitor and adjust post-launch performance for 30 days.
Project Coordination
- Build a repeatable system for capturing and publishing member social proof.
- Maintain a tracking document of diagnosis findings, strategy decisions, and results.
- Deliver a short handoff document at the close of the engagement covering what was built, what it produced, and recommendations for what comes next.
What You'll Bring:
The ideal candidate is someone who found their calling in community building, the kind of person who knew, from the first time they watched a group of strangers turn into something that felt like family because of work they did, that this was the work they were meant to do. They understand lead generation and funnel mechanics well enough to build one themselves, and they bring real love to the work itself, the late-night message to a member who's struggling, the small win nobody else notices, the feeling of a space coming alive. They're comfortable owning a scoped project independently in a solo-founder business, because they've done this before out of pure love for it, long before anyone paid them to.
Candidates must have:
A real, felt love for community building, the kind that shows up as passion first and résumé second, paired with a demonstrated track record and specific numbers to prove that the passion actually works. Working knowledge of online community platforms (Circle, Discord, Mighty Networks, or similar) and membership-business dynamics. Familiarity with Squarespace email campaigns and social media scheduling/analytics tools, or the ability to get up to speed on them quickly. A genuine passion for coaching, personal development, and community-driven brands, one that reads as a true calling. An understanding of lead generation and funnel strategy, with the ability to execute against it directly. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and comfort operating independently with real ownership. Strong written communication skills, including the ability to work inside another person's voice and brand. An ability to stay organized, manage a defined project timeline, and deliver against milestones. A self-directed, collaborative work style and openness to close partnership with the founder.
Our Requirements:
3+ years leading or growing an online community, ideally in coaching, creator, or membership-based businesses (required). Demonstrated funnel-building or lead-generation experience with measurable outcomes. Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to draft member-facing copy and outreach materials. Exceptional attention to detail and comfort with tracking documents and reporting on results. Ability to work independently to meet a defined six-week timeline. English language proficiency required. Professional references and examples of past community work may be requested as part of the final stages of the hiring process.
Compensation and Benefits:
$5,000 flat for the six-week contract engagement. Potential to grow into an ongoing paid contract.
