Overall Position Objective:
Coordinates the production of the Oregon State Bar's print and online legal publications by managing publication workflows, maintaining production standards, and ensuring the timely, accurate, and consistent delivery of high-quality publications. Maintains publication templates and production tools, supports digital publishing platforms, and continuously improves publication processes and electronic products.
This position is authorized to work a remote schedule.
Starting hourly pay: $28.80–$34.20, depending on qualifications, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick time, and participation in the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
Essential Duties:
· Coordinates the layout, formatting, and production of print and online legal publications, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality publication.
· Develops, maintains, and modifies Microsoft Word templates, styles, and macros to support efficient publication production and consistent formatting.
· Applies Legal Publications style standards to publication content and prepares final PDF and Word files for print, online publication, and the online bookstore.
· Develops, maintains, and monitors Legal Publications production standards and style guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across print and digital publications.
· Manages publication content within the BarBooks™ online library, including posting chapters and downloadable forms, and creating links to internal cross-references and to the Decisis legal research platform.
· Develops electronic forms and supporting files for publication products and provides final publication files to external publishing vendors.
· Maintains and updates BarBooks™ content using WordPress, including announcements of new and revised publications.
· Identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to publication production processes, workflows, and electronic publishing products.
· Trains and provides quality oversight for designated Legal Publications backup staff to ensure adherence to production standards and continuity of operations.

Qualifications:
· Associate degree required. Emphasis in English, communications, publishing, technical writing, or a related field preferred.
· Three years of recent experience in print and digital publication production preferred.
· Understanding of legal terminology, legal publications, or legal processes preferred.
· Two years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite in a Microsoft Windows environment, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (styles, templates, and macros) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
· Experience managing multiple concurrent projects (typically 3 to 6) with competing priorities and varying timelines.
· Exceptional attention to detail and consistency.
· Basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and their application in publication production and administrative workflows.
· Ability to type 50 to 60 WPM with accuracy.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong editing and proofreading skills.
· Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a detail- oriented environment.
· Ability to exercise sound judgment in keeping with the policies and objectives of the Legal Publications Department and the OSB.

· Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be substituted for the above.
