Digital Media Editor for Legacy: A Journal of American Women Writers

Join the editorial team at Legacy: A Journal of American Women Writers as a Digital Media Editor! Founded in 1984, Legacy is the only journal to focus specifically on American women writers from the seventeenth through the early twentieth centuries.
We seek an editor to research, write, and post content on the journal’s social media sites at Facebook, Instagram, and Bluesky, and on our newly redesigned website. Other responsibilities will include: creating social media posts about news items, exhibits, collections, etc. that will appeal to our target audience; working with the Legacy editorial team to develop content to promote the journal and individual issues; editing and proofreading digital content written by other members of the team; and attending biannual editorial meetings.
The Digital Media Editor will serve a two-year term. In their second year, in consultation with the Editor, they will propose, solicit, edit, and publish an online forum in our website’s Legacy Salon.
Requirements And Qualifications
- ABD in or a recent PhD from an English Department or related field, with a dissertation project that includes a substantial focus on American women writers up to 1950;
- In-depth experience (either personal or professional) with social media;
- In-depth experience with WordPress.
- No editing experience is required.
