The Dragonfly Foundation is a Cincinnati-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports families of pediatric cancer patients. Their mission is to build a network connecting Dragonfly families to each other and the community, provide programs to enhance quality of life, enhance quality-of-life programs at partner children's hospitals, and partner on psychosocial research with Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The organization is committed to being a leader in providing the best support systems for pediatric cancer families.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of Marketing and Communications at The Dragonfly Foundation located in Cincinnati, OH. The Director of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for developing and implementing market planning strategies, managing marketing activities, conducting market research, and overseeing the marketing and sales efforts of the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Marketing and Communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Experience in the nonprofit sector or healthcare industry is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM system is a plus
- Excellent time-management, organization and record keeping skills
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Must be willing to submit to a background check, sign a confidentiality agreement
Responsibilities
Social Media
- Create content with assistance from team
- Manage social media schedules for Cincinnati and Chicago, as necessary
- Management of Social Media Policy
- Manage social media posts from outside entities
Marketing/Public Relations
- Monthly Newsletter
- Cincinnati; provide support to Chicago chapter as appropriate
- Press Releases – such as, new staff and Board members and events
- Foster and maintain relationships with local sports and entertainment partners while working with Director of Programs and Patient Relations
- Create and manage billboard campaigns in Cincinnati
- Develop an annual communications plan
- Develop new concepts for campaigns (airport advertising, partnerships with vendors, banners in local communities)
- Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Campaign
- Assist in patient stories for fundraising efforts which includes Golf Outing, Gala, and Radiothon.
- Work with Director of Programs and Patient Relations with regards to patient stories.
- Help develop and design marketing materials
- End of Year Appeal letter
- Annual Report
- Design/update all Dragonfly Foundation materials such as business cards, sales decks, envelopes, etc.
Website
- Maintain and edit as necessary while working with website developer
School Programs
- University based programs
- School based programs
Young Professionals
- Work with Board Members to continue to expand on young professionals involvement with Dragonfly
Community Relations:
- Represent Dragonfly by speaking at community-based events
- Participate in staff meetings and team leadership activities and other Dragonfly Foundation activities, as required
- Seek and participate in strategic opportunities for professional and foundation development
