For our client, we are seeking a Editor Books Desk to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Media environment.
Location: the company, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $200,000 – $225,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the editorial strategy for book coverage
- Ensure diverse representation in book selections and coverage
- Oversee high-profile literary projects and develop new franchises
- Produce comprehensive industry coverage on pressing topics
- Collaborate across teams to enhance multi-platform book content
- Use audience insights to enhance reader engagement and content strategy
- Manage and mentor a team, fostering a culture of excellence
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in journalism or cultural criticism
- 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role in major media
- Deep knowledge of the publishing industry and contemporary literature
- Experience with digital transformation and audience engagement
- Exceptional editing skills under tight deadlines
