The Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly motivated and dependable team member who is community-minded to manage marketing and communication for the organization. The individual must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects with little to no supervision. The selected candidate should have 2-3 years (minimum) work experience in marketing, communications or a related field. The candidate will support all communications, including organizational newsletters, all organizational social media, and provide all marketing/communications for organizational and community events. The selected candidate will be required to aid with planning elements, and be on-site, for the majority of events.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing all organizational social media (including subsidiary events) on platforms to include Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Responsible for creating and implementing content calendar
- Will monitor all analytics for adjustment; import to a communication dashboard
- Primarily responsible for managing all organizational email communications to include weekly newsletter, segmented group communication, event campaigns, etc.
- Create marketing materials and promotional resources for all key annual chamber events throughout the year (totaling approximately 15)
- Responsible for creating and executing all related marketing campaigns for event specific opportunities as well as organizational projects
- Individual will be asked to take on additional responsibilities and logistics management for various events
- Will support the team in securing and fulfilling event sponsorships and support post-event reporting requirements
- Work diligently to respond to the needs of business and organizations’ who are members of the Chamber of Commerce.
- Assist the team with all aspects of member management, recruitment and retention
- Responsible for majority of website content and updates including, but not limited to: blogs, event calendar, job postings, membership listings, graphics, ambassador visits, etc.
- Provide support to the President/CEO on a routine basis for a variety of projects.
Skill Requirements:
- Proficient knowledge of social media platforms to include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
- Short-form and long-form video creation will be required
- Graphic Design experience and proficient working knowledge of Canva platform
- Excellent writing (preferably strong storytelling capabilities), proofreading and editing skills
- Highly proficient computer and technical abilities
- Broad understanding of Google Suite platform, including Google Analytics

Employment Requirements:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and necessary insurance
- Capable of lifting 50 pounds on a regular basis as part of event setup/teardown (accommodations may be able to be made)
Hours/Compensation: This is a full-time position. Benefits include generous PTO, a flexible work environment, health insurance options and a life insurance plan. Compensation will range between $17-22/hour, depending on experience and skill level. Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District.
