The Marketing & Communications Specialist supports the day-to-day execution of Manomet's marketing and communications efforts across digital and print channels. The position manages Manomet’s website and email content, supports marketing campaigns and audience engagement. Working as part of the External Relations Team and in collaboration with program staff throughout the organization, this role helps share Manomet's conservation work through engaging, accurate, and visually compelling communications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Digital Communications and Marketing
•Manage and update Manomet’s website, including program content, news, events, forms, and other digital resources, applying basic accessibility and SEO practices.
•Support integrated marketing campaigns across email, web, social media, digital advertising, and help create clear pathways for audiences to donate, register, subscribe, participate, or learn more about Manomet’s work.
•Monitor website content and functionality and coordinate with outside vendors on website improvements, digital advertising, and technical needs as appropriate.
•Format, test, and distribute email newsletters, event promotions, fundraising communications, and organizational updates; maintain email templates, lists, audience segments, and subscription forms.
•Track website, email, social media, and campaign performance to help inform improvements to content, targeting, timing and distribution.
Content, Design, and Communications Support
•Work with communications, development, and program staff to execute campaign plans, adapt messages, calls to action and content for different audiences and channels.
•Develop and coordinate campaign materials, timelines, landing pages, email communications, social media content, and other promotional elements.
•Support the Science Communications Manager with social media content, scheduling, audience growth and campaign promotion as needed.
•Assist with the production of digital and print materials and ensure communications materials follow Manomet’s brand standards and maintain a consistent visual identity.
•Coordinate with printers, designers, photographers, videographers, and other production vendors, as needed.
Communications Coordination and Operations
•Manage Manomet’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and help staff organize, find, and appropriately use photos, videos, graphics, and organizational assets.
•Provide technical support for Manomet’s webinars, including registration, setup, recordings and post-event materials as needed.
•Maintain an organizational marketing and content calendar in collaboration with the External Relations team.
•Support internal communications by helping prepare and distribute staff updates, announcements, and other organizational communications.
•Provide communications support for fundraising campaigns, events, programs initiatives, partnerships, and organization-wide priorities.
•Coordinate communications requests, project timelines, reviews, approvals, and production schedules across departments.
•Assist with organizational apparel, merchandise, signage, and other branded materials.
•Support other communication needs that advance Manomet’s mission and organizational priorities.
•Perform other duties as directed.
PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
•4+ years of experience in digital communications, marketing, nonprofit communications, or related field.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
•Experience managing websites (e.g., WordPress), email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact), social media channels, and digital content management platforms.
•Graphic design skills, including proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud or similar design platforms, and experience producing high-quality branded materials.
•Experience with Google Analytics or similar tools and the ability to compile and interpret performance reports to inform communications strategy.
•Strong organizational skills and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
•Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and translate their communications needs into finished products.
•Willingness to learn how to translate technical/scientific information into accessible digital content.
•Experience with webinar platforms, video editing tools preferred.
•Alignment with Manomet's conservation mission and a genuine interest in the natural world
•Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are considered a plus.
•Knowledge of basic search engine optimization and digital accessibility practices a plus.
Must have a valid US passport (if applicable for position)
•Must have a reliable method of transportation and a valid driver’s license.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
•Must successfully pass a background check.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•Ability and willingness to travel to various locations in the US as necessary to complete job duties. Travel may also be international. Travel is reimbursed. (If applicable)

•Occasional walking up and down stairs, standing, and bending.
•Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
•Hybrid remote work possible.
SALARY RANGE: $55,000 – $65,000
