Role Description The Communications and Marketing Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Manassas, VA. This role is responsible for supporting the Chamber’s communication and marketing efforts, including drafting and editing content for newsletters, social media, website updates, and member outreach materials. The coordinator helps develop and execute marketing campaigns that promote events, programs, and initiatives, while ensuring consistent branding and messaging. Daily tasks include coordinating with internal staff and external partners, assisting with event promotion, conducting basic market research, and monitoring engagement metrics. The role also involves maintaining marketing calendars, updating member communications, and providing general support for projects that enhance the Chamber’s visibility and member experience.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear writing, editing, and the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Candidates should possess Sales and Marketing skills, including promoting programs and events, supporting membership recruitment and retention, and contributing to campaign development.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including organizing tasks, meeting deadlines, coordinating with stakeholders, and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include proficiency with social media and email marketing tools, basic design or content management experience, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience, is preferred.
- Interest in community engagement, economic development, and working with diverse business stakeholders in a collaborative environment is highly valued.
Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000
