About the Role
As an Account Executive at Montagne Powers, you will play a hands-on role in developing and executing public relations and strategic communications programs for a diverse roster of clients. You will serve as a day-to-day client contact, write the materials that tell our clients’ stories, pitch and secure media coverage, and help bring integrated campaigns to life - from traditional PR to social media, digital, and events.
This role is ideal for a communications professional with 2–3 years of agency or in-house experience who is ready to take on more client responsibility, sharpen their media relations and strategic skills, and grow alongside a team of strategic thinkers and motivated change makers.
What You’ll Do
Client Service & Account Support
- Serve as a day-to-day client contact, providing responsive, proactive service and building strong, trusted relationships.
- Support the development and implementation of complex public relations and strategic communications programs, from planning through execution.
- Manage project status reports, editorial calendars, and timelines to keep accounts organized, on schedule, and moving forward.
- Participate in client meetings and events, including occasional after-hours commitments, and help translate client goals into actionable next steps.
Media Relations & Content Creation
- Write and edit client materials, including press releases, media pitches, talking points, FAQs, and other collateral.
- Conduct proactive media relations - pitching editors, reporters, producers, and bloggers and following up by phone and email - to secure coverage across print, broadcast, radio, web, and digital outlets.
- Research and build media lists, editorial calendars, speaking opportunities, and award opportunities that align with client goals.
- Edit and proofread all materials with a sharp eye for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and tone.
Digital, Social & Integrated Campaigns
- Develop engaging social media content and support the management of client social channels.
- Help manage advertising, marketing, and digital campaigns in coordination with internal teams and partners.
- Track, measure, and report on PR and social media results, sharing insights that inform smarter strategy.
Events & Project Coordination
- Plan and coordinate special events, press conferences, announcements, and community engagement activities.
- Manage multiple active projects simultaneously, anticipating needs and solving problems quickly with a sense of urgency.
- Collaborate closely with account leadership and colleagues to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience at a public relations agency or in an in-house communications role.
- Demonstrated track record of securing media coverage for clients or organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to write clear, compelling copy and pitch confidently.
- Eagerness and ability to make media follow-up calls and pitch editors, reporters, producers, and bloggers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple active projects.
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and dependable follow-through.
- Proficiency with social media and digital marketing, with a curiosity for the latest trends and technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
