About Wheelchair Foundation
Wheelchair Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mobility, dignity, and independence to people living with physical disabilities around the world.
Since our founding in 2000, we have helped deliver more than 1.25 million wheelchairs to people in need. Yet an estimated 130 million people worldwide still need a wheelchair.
Behind every wheelchair is a person, a family, and a story worth telling. We believe that sharing those stories is one of the most powerful ways to inspire generosity and create lasting change.
About the Position
We are seeking a talented, creative, and motivated Marketing & Communications Manager to help shape how Wheelchair Foundation shares its mission, connects with supporters, and inspires giving.
This is a hands-on management role for someone who brings fresh ideas, strong writing and editorial skills, excellent creative judgment, and the ability to turn ideas into meaningful campaigns.
Working closely with the Director of Development, the Marketing & Communications Manager will lead the Foundation's marketing and communications efforts across digital, print, social media, fundraising campaigns, and special events.
We're looking for someone who understands the power of a good story, has an eye for compelling design, and knows how to connect with an audience in a genuine, engaging way.

- Manage marketing projects, timelines, budgets, and outside creative vendors or contractors.
Content, Storytelling & Publications
- Lead the content development, editorial direction, and production of the Foundation's print newsletter/magazine, donor communications, and other publications.
- Write and edit compelling stories, fundraising appeals, email campaigns, website content, and promotional materials.
- Work with program teams to identify and share authentic stories of wheelchair recipients, volunteers, and donors.
- Oversee photography, video, and creative assets to ensure high-quality, mission-centered storytelling.
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Develop engaging digital campaigns across email, website, and social media channels.
- Guide social media content strategy, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
- Manage email marketing campaigns, audience segmentation, and performance reporting.
- Support website content updates and improvements to the donor experience.
- Monitor campaign performance, engagement, and conversions, using results to continually improve outreach.
Fundraising, Events & Donor Engagement
- Partner closely with the Director of Development on fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation, stewardship, and year-end giving initiatives.
- Develop marketing materials and communications for special events, Rotary partnerships, school programs, and wheelchair distributions.
- Create thoughtful, engaging donor communications that build relationships and encourage continued support.
- Help identify new audiences and opportunities to expand the Foundation's reach.

- 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, including experience leading projects, campaigns, or creative teams.
- Nonprofit experience strongly preferred, particularly in fundraising communications, donor engagement, or mission-driven storytelling.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, email campaigns, and print publications.
- Excellent creative judgment, with an eye for design, photography, and brand presentation.
- Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, budgets, and outside vendors.
- Familiarity with Canva, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative and marketing platforms.
- Experience with fundraising CRM systems, particularly Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT, is a plus.
- Comfortable analyzing marketing performance and using data to guide decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field preferred.
The Person We're Looking For
Someone who is creative, organized, resourceful, and genuinely passionate about making a difference.
You'll be comfortable taking the lead while remaining collaborative, bringing ideas to the table, and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
