Overview:
Aces is a private community for the top 100 investors in venture capital. Think of us as a social club, but exclusively for world-class venture capital investors. Our goal is to help our members build deep, life-long relationships with each other.
The Community:
- Aces has accepted our 100 members so far, which include principals, partners and GPs from top-tier funds like A16Z, Khosla, Menlo, GV, Lightspeed, and more. Our members help collectively manage over $250B.
- We’re a digital-first members' club that curates private calls, guest Q&As, and more. Once a month, we host dinners in our members' homes in NY, SF, and LA. Once a year, we organize a community-wide trip.
Your Role:
As the 'Chief of Staff' to our founder, you'll be second-in-command helping to support the day-to-day operations of the community, including managing event planning, programming, logistics, admin, and more. This is a versatile role for a true generalist who loves working with people.
What You'll Own:
1. Community & Member Relations
a.) Building Relationships:
- Develop strong friendships and build rapport with members.
- Act as the primary point of contact for member inquiries and feedback.
b.) Member Merch & Gifts:
- Design incredible member merch, thank you gifts, and other branded items.
- Help manage sending out birthday gifts, yearly holiday letters to members, etc.
c.) Engagement Initiatives:
- Spark meaningful conversations in group chats and forums.
- Organize and participate in feedback calls and interviews with members.
2. Event Planning & Coordination.
a.) Monthly Social Events:
- Create and plan fun, engaging monthly events (e.g., private poker workshops).
- Coordinate with chefs, venues, photographers, and other vendors.
- Ensure smooth execution and high attendance for each event.
b.) Annual Trip:
- Design and oversee the coordination of our yearly trip.
- Manage event planners and team members involved in the trip.
- Handle logistics, scheduling, and vendor relationships.
3. Admin & Support
a.) Newsletter Management:
- Collect monthly updates from the group.
- Compile, design, and send out a member newsletter using tools like Canva.
b.) Accounting & Billing:
- Communicate with accountants regarding payroll, taxes, and other financial matters.
- Ensure all member payments are processed, receipts are sent, and subscriptions are updated.
c.) Scheduling & Logistics
- Set up calendar invites and reminders for digital and in-person events.
- Manage the onboarding & off-boarding process for new members, including creating member decks.
