The NIL WIRE is looking for an Editor who will source, curate, and write informative and interesting content on anything related to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) primarily for college sports. The Editor will also assist with management, product development, and marketing. Take on a large role in growing social media followings as well.

The newsletter is currently in the pre-launch phase. The ideal Editor will work closely with the CEO to execute all stated goals, provide analysis and ideas for improvement, and grow into a larger role as the business develops. Producing each edition of the Newsletter will be the largest responsibility.

The overall goal is to create a newsletter and brand for anyone with an interest in NIL and have every: Athletic Director, College Coach, Athlete, Athletes family, fan and interested party, in the country reading our newsletter and selling ad sponsorships to drive revenue.

Pre-Launch Product Development

The Editor will work together with leadership to launch the initial product. This will include content strategy, source selection, writing samples, etc..

Copywriting and Management

The Editor will write or edit all copy. At launch, the Editor will write all headlines and copy; in the future, more writers may be involved and will be managed and edited by the Editor.

The Editor will work together with the CEO to develop and maintain a writing voice that matches the larger content strategy. This will involve final edits and revisions aimed at creating a consistent product.

In addition, editor will have Social Media responsibilities and has some experience in posting/creating engaging content on social media. Looking to create a real presence in the NIL space. Having a strong social media is one of the keys to that.

Ongoing Product Development

The Editor will participate in the iterative process of improving the product. This will be an ongoing cycle of brainstorming new ideas, testing, measuring results, and making changes accordingly.

These developments may involve the newsletter’s content and layout (i.e., story selection strategy, a/b testing in-article elements like graphics, word counts in paragraphs, etc.), paid subscriber acquisition campaigns, monetization strategy, etc.

Conclusion

The Editor will be responsible for creating content with punctuality and quality, and they will also play a large role in the long-term development of the business. He or she will report to the CEO and communicate regularly to ensure all goals are achieved.

Salary Range - $60,000 to $90,000 based on experience and fit.
